How to Crochet Velvet Scrunchies with OTH Crochet Nook 

For everyone confused about the rabbit ear things at the end... this is how to do it: Know these first: Increase: do 2 crochet stitches in one stitch Decrease: insert hook into first stitch, pull through, insert hook into second stitch, then pull through all 3 loops OK the steps/instructions now! 1. Create a slip not and chain two 2. Single crochet in the second stitch from the hook, chain one, flip over (row 1) 3. Increase in the first stitch, chain one, flip over (row 2) 4. Increase in the first stitch and single crochet to the end of the row, chain one, flip over (x3) (rows 3,4,5) 5. Single crochet to the end of the row, chain one, flip over (×3) (rows 6,7,8) 6. Decrease once, then single crochet to the end of the row, chain one, flip over (x2) (rows 9 and 10) 7. For row 11 single crochet to the end of the row, chain one, flip over... do this until the entire work measures 5.5 inches, consider all the rows for this step as plainly row 11, so row 12 is just what you do after its all 5.5 inches 8. Increase in the first stitch, then single crochet to the end of the row, chain 1, flip over (x2) (rows 12 and 13) 10. Single crochet to the end of the row, chain 1, flip over (x3) (rows 14, 15, 16) 11. (You should have two stitches left) decrease, chain one, flip over 12. Single crochet in the stitch 13. Pull loop closed, then weave in the access thread 14. Tie around the four single crochets on scrunchie!💙 Done!!♡♡ Note: This is my first time explaining a pattern, I learned how to crochet a week ago, so no hate please :) only trying to help! She is crocheting to fast and talking to fast in the video and it is hard to follow. I had to keep stopping it and replaying. If a video is suppose to be a tutorial than the teaching should be slow enough so the learner can get the stitches and technique to feel successful at the project.

I personally loved this tutorial! For me it was at perfect speed and made such a beautiful scrunchie! I loved loved loved this video!💖💕

My only concern is possible moving the camera directly on your hands.

I’m also lost on the bow. Mine started to turn out very square. Please move hands up more in to view and maybe slow down a little. I’m not giving up on the bow though.

I'm super new to crochet so was confused with the tie and exactly where to put the sts as it was of the speed for ppl who know what they are doing but it's oookay😀I will learn about dec/inc in time and come back to this because they are pretty and different....unique and want to make a bunch for next craft fair and gifts for family/friends Thanks for sharing

I used Bernat Baby Velvet and an H hook. It doesn’t have the same effect. Still cute! But I think the Bernat Velvet and a larger hook is the way to go for these. Thanks for the tutorial!

Reading the pattern was better for me on rabbit ears part. I got really lost. But It turned out super cute!

single crochet in te first four stitches so thats three and for, we are now going star our repeat the repeat goes like this, its half double crochet, double crochet, triple crochet x2, and end off with a double crochet.

The part for the tie is too fast and the camera isn't directly over the work to see where the stitches were going. We know what the scrunchy looks like. Them just sitting there doesn't need to be the focus of a tutorial. Luckily, I'm not a beginner at crocheting and was able to figure out by constantly pausing and rewinding. You should show specifically which stitches you're going into for the tie section and slow down.

The pattern is off If you start with a hdc then a dbl c then 2 trp c back to a dbl it should end w a hdc not a dbl c - and yes unlike most video teaching tutorials that speak fairly slow and match the stitching w it so everyone understands yours is wayyy to fast for most to follow

Please do not follow this tutorial, it will leave most of you confused. Just look for another tutorials, they give clearer instructions. This pattern doesn't explain how to end the scrunchie part, she told us to repeat the pattern until the end but the result is an unbalanced beginning and end of that scrunchie since she single crochet into 4 rows at the beginning? Also the bunny ear part is so unclear both the camera and her too fast hands movement.

This is my first time crocheting scrunchies to make gifts, and I've had to pause 10 times already to replay her technique. Way too fast and her hands are too low. Cannot follow and it's making this extremely frustrating. PLEASE SLOW DOWN AND MOVE THE CAMERA UP. Also, the "triple crochet" term is incorrect - it is a called a treble crochet.
