It's officially over three months that I've been waking up with Chess Vibes everyday. First, WOW, that's insane. But second, THANK YOU SO MUCH, honestly, your videos make me feel like I'm just watching a cousin doing what he loves doing and that's soooo chill, I literally have no ways to tell you how much this little routine is precious to me. Halfway through watching this very instructive rating climb series. I appreciate how clearly you articulate your thought & calculation process, and how you always seem to stay cool calm & collected, and never seem to get ruffled! *slow clap* I will definitely support your channel in the near future by buying some of your paid teaching content. Thank you!

Very thankful for this series. I think I've learned "a thing or two". lol. A couple of things that have been very important is understanding the meaning of saving time with tempo, and don't shy away from aggressive moves. Very helpful , learning a lot. Really appreciate you sharing your insights!

Lion's Claw is VERY similar to an opening I spotted on Anarchy Chess that was surprisingly very good. They called it the Anakin Skywalker Attack, and it runs very similar ideas to the claw, but it's a Queen's Pawn opening that basically starts as a Jobava London and if you see KID, you go for the Queen bishop battery, and you have the same pawn structure as the Claw, and you castle long and attack with the Kingside pawns. Good stuff! Love that kind of opening. Throws the KID player completely off his game as they're used to being the ones pushing King Side pawns, not being pawn stormed. 1. d4 Nf6 2. Bf4 d6 3. Nc3 g6 4. Qd2 Bg7 5. Bh6 O-O 6. Bxg7 Kxg7 7. O-O-O This is a typical Anakin Skywalker Attack setup. You will end up playing f3, taking the center if they let you, and pawn storming their King. Their best reply is to throw their Queen side pawns at you, but you get there just a tad faster, and one of you is going to die, just about every time. I play between 1400 and 1600 and last I checked I had something like an 85% win rate against KID thanks to Anakin Skywalker.

Sometimes you do have to trade material for time. With pieces on the board, it's much easier to blunder a game where you are 5 pawns ahead, whereas 5 pawns up in a pawns only endgame reduces the chance of losing to an infinitesimal.

At around the 5:00 mark, could you not have fianchettoed (sp?) the bishop and attacked the rook? Just looking at it, it seems that the worst-case scenario is that you win the enemy knight because he would have to move the rook to get off of the long diagonal. If he doesn't move the rook pawn, then you do that and the white rook is yours. Or am i missing something? EDIT- I should have kept watching. Lol.

I am only 1400 my problem is I play while at work when the call volume is low since I work the night shift. And also i go through some days where I lose like 50 elo or more because I can not think for some reason. I Struggle against the cicillian and the caro khan and end games are always tuff. I love playing the Albin counter gambit against the queens gambit hoping to see that line in this series at some point. If they do not know what they are doing they can really be in a bad situation my favorite part is the under promotion to a knight and forking the king and queen with the bishop after.
