Awesome! It had been a mystery that I've tried to solve for a while now. It makes a lot of sense! My forehand on the dead run frequently resulted in the ball being too spinny and into the net, so I kept telling myself not to sneak peek (pointing the chest at the net too soon) at the target and run through the shot with one more step... but that was wrong. By raising my left knee as the counter-balance, as if I'm doing the "skip and twist" warmup stretches (almost like the Heisman trophy pose), it'll help me to keep my head still speeding up the recovery of the baseline position. Thank you very much for the tip!
Amazing power and precision, you're kind of in the air during contact. Just what I needed too, played with many hard hitters, had to run like hell and in trouble for fast wide balls😅
Hi Will, love your videos. I have an outside the box one for you: due to some dominant hand wrist issues I’ve had to learn to play with a two-handed flat forehand (non dominant hand sits on top of dominant on the racquet). It works to keep me playing but it lacks power and range. Curious if you can think of any bio mechanical tips that may help me get the most out of an un-ideal shot!
Thanks very useful will practice I have a ongoing quandary do I hit flat or go for top spin? What you were saying here is to do both rotation flat legs spin. Last thing what racket do you use looks good Head Radical ??
Well done realy substantial topic that they never been taught about even in my private lessons We practice forehand rally very well feeling solid and the when we play games it doesnt work. It is like different story realy helphul Ps i would like you to make a video about your thoughts on rackets, top like i think smaller head rackets i found recently Can help you better for technique an swing especially semi western type and it doesnt matter that have smaller sweet spot and less power
Hi Ironwill !! I have a question that haven't been addressed by any tennis channel yet 😱! Everybody talks about hitting in front but after nearly a year struggling with low power on my stroke, I just realise that I have the tendency to hit to much in front... I make contact with the ball at the very end of the stroke. I think that it's because i struggle with timing and have to slow the swing path of my racquet to hit the ball in the direction that I want... Because of that, I lose all the power and if my opponent doesn't produce pace on the ball, I have a very hard time producing it on my own. Do you have suggestions (drills or tips) to help me swing in the proper contact zone with racquet head speed ?
I did a video on that recently here us the link. Let me know if this answers the question m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nYvAayOQJoo.html
Simon Freund has a tutorial if iron will doesn’t. I don’t think he will make a video on this so I’ll just tell you how I do it. Semi western forehand grip and then swing through and pronate. Gotta do it a few times to get the hang of it. Hope that helps
Thank you for the great video. For the next clinic---can you address a point you made towards the end---step out, step forward, keep moving---you didn't mention moving away diagonally. I am a 4.5/5.0 and I find myself moving to fast paced balls on the outer wings very horizontally---and I feel the better players go to those balls with a diagonal approach...to FH or BH. Would LOVE your help with this...including how to train this. THANK YOU
I apologize 😔 I'll find your question if I missed it. Some questions that people ask are repeats to other videos I've already done. That would be the only way I'd not do it intentionally but I will go back and check fir sure
@@ironwilltennis No problem my friend. I will just repeat it. Since you have more upper body muscle than most tennis players including pros, what is your workout routine? What's your diet, supplements, PEDs, etc like? Lastly, how does the upper body muscle affect your tennis game positively or negatively? Thanks bro.
Excellent video! Thanks Will. Tried it and the balance dimension is really simple and yet so effective. Really feels very different if you are playing flattish/rally versus trying to hit heavy to have time to recover (but the latter only really seems like an option if you are not really that stretched). I guess pulling off a heavy ball on the run requires a combination of leg explosive power and dynamic core strength. So when is your tennis conditioning video series coming out? 😊
thanks for the great content I noticed you were executing this shot aprox half a meter to a meter behind the baseline, and running parallel to the baseline. Does this breakdown applies if you have to meet the ball by cutting the angle and getting slightly in to the court? Please make a separate video for 2H-BH shot
