An easy how to short hair tutorial with different styles of curls using a flat iron versus using a curling wand. With curling wands, you can create more than one style of curl to sass things up using a flat wrap or a rope wrap. With hair straighteners, there are two styles of curls you can do on that short hair. Comment what your favorite curls are. Is it more with a straightener/flat iron or a curling wand?

I used my tools on 390 and I have medium fine hair, so adjust yours accordingly. Always start out with less heat to test out and go from there. I wouldn't use my curling wand higher than 410 to be safe.

What a difference you have made to my hair! I’m a silver sister of 75. I have been using a curling iron. I was used to curling my hair straight down. It was nice, but really was an old fashioned look. Today I dug out my flat iron (not really sure why I bought it) and used it the way you did! WOW made me instantly MODERN! I watched your tutorial. And I have not had much luck with the curling iron or the flat iron. I have all one length shoulder length hair. And I have never been able to get lift or volume with either. So, today I went out and bought the wand. It has 3 different sizes. I tried the small wand today and it made my hair super curly and I love it. It of course took awhile to do it because I had to get used to using it. But I never bought one before because i didn't think it would work on my hair since it is course and thick. But to my surprise it did. I am happy with the results. I'm glad i watched your tutorial. Thank you.

You described my exact aversion to the abomination that is dry hands plus fabrics! Microfiber cloths ARE the worst! I’ve always struggled to describe this sensation to people, telling them it’s the equivalent of fingernails on a chalkboard. It bugs me so much I started wearing nitrile gloves to fold laundry. Nope, your hair is the perfect length, Jocelyn! Hold it closer to the root and upward and you'll be amazed. Just be certain your hair is really dry. I use both heat and curl products. The curl starts where the hair pulls in. My picture here is after a hairdresser appointment, so these curls are from a curling iron. You obviously won't curl the really short hair underneath. If you try it, you'll have to let us know what you think! 😘

Straighteners! I think it's a UK thing. This was hands down the most helpful wave/curl tutorial I have seen and please believe me, I've watched them all. This time, I got it and do you know what did it fur ne? At the start where you describe a funky curl and you twist it just ONCE- genius! Even my hairstylist couldn't describe this to me. Love both!! I think I like the wand the best. My hair is just recently cut similar to yours after years of having long hair. I just have a hard time with using a wand bc I use a curling iron. Most definitely gonna try it though. I wish you would do a video of how to section off hair to dry and style I think if I can master that it will be so much easier than just grabbing pieces of hair! You’re a beautiful girl!!

Love the way you teach this. I’ve tried it and it works great. But after I sleep on it my hair is a mess. So sadly I have to either start over or just wash my hair. How do you protect your curls when you sleep? I use a silk pillowcase but that doesn’t seem to help

Using a silk pillow case is also what works for me but I also don't move much when I sleep. I've had some cases where I woke up and my hair was messy but I tend to just touch up my curls if I feel they need it the next day!

For sure! When my hair is wet I put in the Glaze Hair Lotion, then the Salt & Sea Texturizing Spray, and then the Whip Volumizing Mousse. @@jocelynmcclellan oh God me too! It does my head in how hairdressers get you hair looking good, volume on the top etc and then they go in for the finishing touches and flatten it out. Infuriates me!
