How to change your opening screen on your Alpine head unit.
Step 1. Make an appropriately formatted opening screen. The format must be 1280x720, as higher resolutions may come out incorrectly.
Step 2. Go to this website cbc-configurator.alpine-europ... and convert your logo to the appropriate format (which it will do automatically).
Step 3. Follow the guide in this link www.alpine.co.uk/fileadmin/im... however, stop at Step 10. We will need to rename the folder.
Step 3a. Name the folder as follows:
iLX-507A - RP00036A
iLX-509A - RP00037A
iLX-511A - RP00038A
And then, returning to the link posted in step 3 here, continue from Alpine's step 11. This will guide you to changing the opening screen on your Alpine unit!
FAQ:
Q. The "Car by Car Update" option is greyed out.
A. Please ensure that you have renamed the folders as mentioned in Step 3a. Failure to do so will cause the headunit to not recognise the folders and therefore, not detect the update! The folder naming is absolutely critical.
Q. I cannot upload the picture/media to the Alpine website. What gives?
A. Please ensure that the image being uploaded is 1280x720 in resolution, and is either .bmp, .jpg (.jpeg) or a .png. Different formats will give an error.
Q. My headunit is not detecting a USB?
A. Please ensure that you are connecting your storage USB device to the grey USB (Apple CarPlay/Android Auto) input. The black USB will not work for this purpose.
Q. I can't find the "Car by Car Update" option. Where is it?
A. From your head units Home Screen, click "Setup", then click "System", then scroll to the bottom, and click "About", and assuming you have followed the aforementioned correctly, if you scroll down, you will see an available "Car by Car Update" option. Click that, and you're done!
