He is literally the only one who cuts peppers like this. Leaves alot of waste left over. Best to cut out the whole core so you are left with the most produce possible.
@SonicAlchemy13
@SonicAlchemy13 4 года назад
His technique, that most seasoned cooks know how to do, is slightly less wasteful than cutting off the top and bottom entirely, but for a longer julienne I like to do exactly that, make a slice down any crease from end to end, roll it out flat, seed and core it like you would a roma tomato then make your julienne cuts across the whole pepper. All cooks and chefs are different 👌

Thanks Gordon!!!! I don't cut them often but when I DO, I have to check a video to see how to avoid the seeds. That happened to be tonight. I was shocked, it was a huge green bell pepper, but when I got to the "Christmas tree" of seeds, there weren't that many but I followed what you said and didn't drop a seed anywhere. I hate doing the veggie tray for family dinners.

Gordie , H S ! . . Relax buddy . In 2017 - The 1st time I've ever grown Red Bell peppers = or peppers period . I Bought one plant , it grew GReat as I must say I do have a Bit of a TLC Green Thumb and I use New and litely Fertilized Soil each year in med to large Pots now . 5 nice peppers from it and the last 2 I decided to save their seeds and Try planting them in 2018 . Well with Around 150 lite yellow seeds ( just like Gordies ) from those 2 peps that I let dry on a paper towel 1st for 2+ days . Then over the winter in a about 70 'F med. dark Dry space in a small ziplock bag . 2018 I planted them in 4 Large pots on my balcony in Full All Day Sun and they came up THICK and Bushy like cedar trees to nearly 4 ft. Tall !! In Late Sept. now , and the plants are still flowering and springing new peps ! ( in Ontario ! ) Now I'm Enjoying my 1st home grown from my seeds , bright red delicious bell peppers . I'm gonna save A Lot of seeds again for me , friends and family to plant as I have About 60 nice peppers right now ripening . " Search for The SO MANY Good Body Health Benefits derived from eating RED Bell Peppers now " and Dry roasted pumpkin seeds also . So here I am searching YT to see the Best Way to cut up all these peppers as to retaining the seeds to grow in 2019 . . AND Wondering if many other people plant peppers from their own grown peppers ? I've never had anyone tell me they do this with their own peppers . . I'm also eating some of the larger green ones now that will never ripen in time before they go bad in the fridge . I've also done this with tomatoes and Many kinds of flower seeds over the years , and had pretty good luck with the quality of them also . . My Marigolds are a Bright Yellow Amazing !

@@WannodsPlace Thanks Hon !! I can't see them as home or store bought being a problem ? I'm gonna Try store boughton now also . I'll be saving some store bought RED Bell pepper seeds here over the winter - simply as to curiosity for next spring and I Do eat RED Bell peppers regularly for the MANY GOOD Multi - Health Benefits provided from them . I get all day Hot Sun here from about 7:30 am till 8:+ in the summer months in Ontario . = LOTS Of Watering and just Like with Tomatoes , beans and etc. - They All Need The Natural Calcium and Lime in the water ... or they'll get Brown bottom rot from the lack of it . You must make sure the light yellow seeds - as like Gordies ( and any flower seeds ) are DRY before you store them for the winter - or they'll just go to mold . . In a plastic container or ziplock bag . As to a vid . . lol All I have is a Large VHS - VCR Camera now for around home . I no longer have a Cell Phone or even subscribe to a TV service for the past ? 7 years . Just Me and my Home PC here now with endless music and RU-vid . xDD Keepin it all very simple in life now with a bit of white wine , vegetables and a bit of fruit . I Knew someone was missing ! I love how he is passionate about all this, this is what makes a chef great, Few points about the bell pepper, Look at the bottom of the bell pepper, you will have either 3 or 4 bulges 3 bulges are male 4 bulges are female, The female is sweeter and best for salads, the male is firmer and good for cooking. Also, other than the seeds, make sure you get rid of all the white, both the white membrane as well as the seeds, give off bitter taste, so dont be afraid to shave off that white.
