Lining to such skirt is best done thrown in. Separately from the body of the skirt. You may enrol for paid Class on SKIRT SEWING for more insight.

Oh, I think I got you. I wanted to get the right location for the shaping above the knee. So to do that, I first considered my skirt full length. Which is the 40 inches. Then divided it by 2 to get 20, then reduced by 2 to get the point 18inches from the waist. That's the formula I have adopted to getting the right location for the shaping of my skirts. Full lenght divided by 2 ,them minus 2"
