Thankyou. I have no intention of cutting or replacing my fenders but my son, somehow just ripped out the 3 clips at the rear of the fender and I need to refit it. Your breakdown was far more useful than anything else I could find.

Nice job on the fender trim, the edging is a great idea to clean up the look of the fenders after they are cut. Great video!

Cool video! I just bought a 2008 model and I'm going to do this. I'm a professional detailer and one thing I might add on your trim restoration is to use a product called solution finish instead of the over-the-counter stuff like Back to Black Etc. Solution finish is an actual die and I would suggest putting it on and then waiting about a week and reapplying it. It lasts for years. Thanks for the video

what kind of edging did you use? I love it! on mine I already removed the inner fenders. Gives a little more clearance when I was stuffing my tire

Nope. I just left them Raw. I buzzed down the metal so it’s not sharp. It’s only temporary. They do make end-caps you can purchase to clean it up. Thanks for checking out my channel. Let me know if you have any more?s..... ✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️

What size tire/ lift? I see you trimmed your bumper too was it rubbing?

Thanks for checking out the channel. I’m running the Rock Krawler 3.5in lift. Tires are 37x12.50. With the stock fenders On my rear fenders were basically going to be ripped off by my tires if I didn’t cut or replace them. The front fender was more of a personal choice. It just lookes goofy once you lift your Jeep so high and it’s got this bat wing on the front. lol you will see.

ya so it may not be your first rodeo at cutting fenders but at 16:38 on your trip to the store you said hey first "Sling Shot" well it wasn"t a Sling Shot. It was a Plymouth / Chrysler Prowler it had 4 wheels a Sling Shot has only 3 wheels and its made by Polaris

Of course I knew it was a Sling SHOT🤣🤣. I was just being silly saying it was A First Gen. I couldn’t think 🤔 of it on the spot but it came to me after I got down the road. I should have yelled out the window hey 👋Nice sling shot and see why he said. Lol

I Just measured 8in on the front 6in midway down and 2-1/2in down at the bottom.

Wouldn't it have been easier to just use a jigsaw instead of a Dremel? Could have probably made the long cuts still attached to the jeep. Just an opinion.

You can use a Jigsaw. I wouldn't recommend it. I used a jigsaw for about 25min on the first set of fenders I ever cut. It didn't cut so well on the thick plastic stuff. It did ok on the thin fender plastic. Using a jigsaw is easy when you can press down to cut. You have to let the blade do the cutting and hold the saw off of the plastic so that you don't put visible scuff marks on the fender. There are more Pros to using the Dremel vs the Jigsaw. But in the end If the results are the same it don't really matter. Its your jeep and sometimes you gotta use what you can to get the job done. Thank you for checking out my channel!!! How does the edging stay on? Mine keep coming loose when they get cold and back to hot.

AMANDA I do not know the answer. I have one spot that barely moves and it’s bc it’s on a tight bend. May want to remove it all and re-apply new. If you installed it and had to adjust it more than once. Possible that the sticky stuff isn’t holding it on anymore.

Why is the video so dark? On second thought, keep it dark. I don't want to see the bugers in your nose with the close up selfie shots. Nope, too dark. Can't see anything. Still don't want to see your bugers though so loose the close ups.
