Love how you handle hick-ups. I'm shure that in the end nobody will see it. It actually helps us to not make a mistake like this one. Great Job!

Great videos!! I'm glad I found someone new to CNC like me so I can actually learn some lessons along the way. Neck still looks great! I actually like the final result. Not perfect, no, but what in life ever is. Keep it up.

Another great episode. When learning anything new, you learn as much from your mistakes as you do from your success. I always say, I never make the same mistake twice, I always come up with a new one, lol.

We live, we learn. Publicising the screw-ups helps everyone. Applause for that.

Have the same machine and just starting using the Tile feature. Really extends the reach.

You're not the first to have this happen. I can vouch for that 😂. We don't learn if we don't make mistakes. Glad to see you're not one of the "purists" and embraced the CNC.

Good video, when I make a mistake like you described, I tell my wife when I go in I had another humbling experience today in the shop...bummer

Yeah it was a bummer for sure. An excellent learning experience! I actually milled off the headstock plate and replaced it. I just couldn’t stand looking at it.

It's a shame about the burn spots. One thing you could do would be to mill off the head stock plate and glue on a new one. Will you also need to mill the truss rod channel a bit deeper sense you are going to resurface the top of the neck blank? As long as we learn from out mistakes then it is not really a failure.
@eworcustomguitars

That is exactly what I did. I just couldn’t stand looking at those spots anymore 😁 and yes I took off about .003 off the neck surface so I still need to deepen the truss Rod slot with a round chisel.

How much is a cnc machine. I’m still using the old fashion way. A pocket knife 😂. Table saw. Router. Band saw etc. in the year 2525.
