One tip that might be helpful-- when you're referencing your other videos, go into annotation and add links to those videos, as well. It will be a great to have accessible links to the blue painter's tape video, and some other relevant videos you've done. (P.S. I just got a cameo so I'm ready to have fun with it! I love all your videos. Thanks for this tip. I've noticed that you have a lot of different cutters like the cricut, silhouette cameo, ecraft, ect... I was wondering if you could do a video comparing all of the different die-cutting machines you have. That way people who are not sure what machine is right for them can see how they all work and compare.
You can use a clear/translucent low tack adhesive paper to place over the letters, release them from the backing and then lay the whole word out at once. It would be much easier to deal with than placing each letter individually without the threat of distorting the overall appearance.
Love how this site uses the pop-up menu screen to aid the viewer with the steps used for parts of the demonstration. I only yesterday learned about the Silhouette while reading a blog I received. I'm not artistic, but interested in creating stencils to use in Subway Art using Chalk Paint. I want to create my own stencils and possibly sell them, if the product is of the quality needed. I'm wondering whether the Silhouette is capable of working with .007 mil mylar which is the thickness of stencils I've purchased from vendors on eBay. Thanks for any assistance.
I second what bluebellecrafts said. Also it would be nice if you did tutorials such as this one with the ecraft. I just got one and love it but I'm a visual learner and need to look at Yt videos to learn how to work it.
Thank you for the helpful video. I followed all of your directions-but it failed! First of all, I couldn't get the right roller to move for the 12 inch vinyl. I went ahead and tried to cut my pattern, but I got an error message saying that the registration failed. I did have the Cameo on the media load setting. I am very frustrated- I have lots of ideas, but can't get started! Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I just received my silhouette . I was very excited to get started ! So To trying to cut out vinyl . It's telling me to set my cutting tool on 1 . But it's cutting through my paper and almost threw my cutting board . Then I decided to practice on card stock . set my Cutting tool on 3 same issue . It also sounds like my machine is straining to cut can you tell me what I'm doing wrong .? HELP PLEASE
Just got my cameo 3, i'm totally lost. we are wanting to cut vinyl for T-Shirts, I can't seem to figure out when to weld, when to group, when to cut inside out or outside in...I'm pretty sure i've figured out blade settings, and sending the image to the cutter, but the tricks for the cut seem to confuse me
When I try to load without a mat, it just slides through and messes the project up because it moves around. Is there a place to tighten, so it will not slide right through? thank you
can you use any picture or own saying by designing it yourself on WordArt? or do you MUST only use the patterns and lettering sold by the manufacture of machine.

I'm having trouble cutting my vinyl with or without a mat. When I load it, it starts to cut and then makes the vinyl go all goofy. I've adjusted the white rollers as it shows on the cutting for the silhouette, but it still doesn't cut properly. Could you please give me some more information in regards to this? Thanks Denise
Hi, I have a question! I just got a Cameo for Christmas and am learning how to use it. I understand how to load and cut the vinyl, but every time I've cut it, my blade is catching on letters and picking them up at making it get all caught in my machine. I made sure the blade is on 1, but I'm still not sure what else I can do so that it cuts in nicely without ruining any of it. Please help!
Have you checked to see if there is any vinyl caught up inside your blade cartridge? I had the same problem and cleaning that out plus slowing my speed helped a ton. Good luck.
Julie, I'm having the exact same problem! Also my sheet of vinyl is sticking badly to the carrier sheet. [the instructions that came with the vinyl said to use the carrier sheet]. Any suggestions anyone?

wowzer!! I just bought the cameo today..I tried my 1st cut and it went bad? I got to the screen, typed in "the city of champions" in a "handwriting" font...loaded my vinyl (silhouette brand), and clicked "cut". What I got was tiny little scratches....I had the blades to #1? What went wrong? LOL Im going to try again...Thx Uzi
Hey there, if you're using the premium vinyl first of all make sure you select vinyl as your medium in the settings. The default settings you need to see (& work) are blade #2, speed 8, depth 9.
Also make sure the font is appropriate for cutting. some very skinny fonts will not cut well because there is not enough width to be able to lift off the word. If the font is too thin, I will sometimes make a thin offset so that it is a bit thicker. Also, on the cameo, some things are meant to be "sketches" and not "cuts", therefore, it would only work like handwriting it and not make a "bubble letter" to cut it out.
im hoing you can help me. i am trying to cut an imange on vinyl for a coffee mug for a dayhome fathers day project with all my kids. this is the first time i have used my cameo. is there a step by step that you have that i could follow.
I'm having trouble with my vinyl that when I peel my vinyl, the cutout stuck on the original backing paper. Is there a way to fix this or did I buy a bad vinyl?
+Mrscreative47 I've only had my Cameo for a couple of hours and haven't cut anything yet but I'm pretty sure that the left roller is fixed and you can only move the right roller.
My Silhouette Cameo doesn't look like yours.. I must have a new version. There's no cut icon.. it's "Send to Silhouette". Other than that it's the same, but the first vinyl cut scrunched up the vinyl. It's all wrinkled. :(
I guess she doesn't monitor her youtube video... there is a Silhouette store which you might have to sign up for. I've had my machine for four months...and still can't figure it out. AND videos like these are frustrating to watch because She doesn't show Everything from start to finish.
this ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY DID NOT work at all, as my rollers pulled in the vinyl and then pushed it back, it got all bunched up under the rollers and created a horrible jam. I did exactly these steps, so why didn't it work for me? :(
