My step by step tutorial of how to cut bouncy face framing layers into your hair at home!
I am a fully qualified hairdresser so please feel free to ask me any questions in the comments below!
Thanks for watching, leave me a comment down below if you have any questions!
How I cut these bouncy 90's style layers into my own hair:
1- Starting at the very top of the hairline, cut the first section to the desired length.
2- Gradually introduce more hair section by section and use the length of the previous section as a guide while cutting in a downwards motion for a seamless gradual effect.
3- Repeat this on both sides
4- Once the hair is dry, remove weight to shatter any harsh lines

I had to smile watching this, remembering when this haircut became popular in the '70s when I was your age. Everyone wanted Farrah Fawcett hair, and that is exactly what kind of hair you have, too! You're blessed with fabulous hair and a beautiful face as well! Lucky you!

Farrah’s haircut was more extreme, I still have a tutorial from a magazine with the technique which is basically putting all the hair up and doing one big straight cut.

Omg I just did this my hair is still wet!! If it comes out bad I'm going to be so grounded for the whole summer break so I hope it comes out good I will keep y'all updated! Okay so I have wavy hair and I blow dried it not styled yet but omg IT IS SO CUTE!!! If you have waves this will give you such cute face framing layers!! 100% doing this again!

I recommend washing your hair before because if it’s greasy it’ll be slippery and hard to work with. This is a really good tutorial and I was kinda tired of my hair being plain, might use this!

Love this video, your hair looks beautiful! ❤ Really wondering if this would work on extremely thin and straight hair though...I would love more volume, but my hair doesn't like to keep in any style, when I curl it it flattens out even with hair spray 🥲, so I'm afraid if I added layers they wouldn't be so fluffy and would just end up straight hair with some pieces cut different lengths 😂 I also already have bangs, so I'm not sure how that would affect the look or the process.

Wow! What texture is your hair? Mine is a thin, fine texture but medium thickness, which makes my hair hate to hold curls. I curl it and its straight as uncooked spaghetti in 5 minutes. Do you have any tricks to get my hair to hold curls?

It's a good tutorial, but I recommend starting with much lesser hair, and not goin all the way back with that (guiding) parting line from ear to ear. The layers become very thick. Looks good but basically half your hair is layers then...

Good tutorial, but it got confusing when you were explaining where to start cutting each layer and how. I'm experienced at cutting my own hair and doing layers, and also I cut my sons' hair... so I'm not a novice, and I was a little confused. I'm right handed and my right side turned out better than my left... for some reason it was easier to figure out and understand on that side.

hey, I have waist length hair and a little face framing layers (theynre quite long) and I really like voluminous hair, do you think that cutting shorter face framing layers would look fine on my hair, considering it's slightly wavy (it looks straight when I brush it out but I can also style it in a way that it has a little more volume, especially if it's shorter)
