How I spend my time each morning in my office planning time. I share how I meal plan, make to-do lists, write down what's working and what's not and even how to improve. Probably most important of all is that this is a NO ELECTRONICS ZONE for distraction-free planning!
This is the first video in a brand new series called "HOME MANAGEMENT SERIES". For more info, visit the blog post here: homesteadingfa...

Justin Rhodes during a recent video talked about how if we improve our homes/farm/etc by just "1%" per day, how that adds up over time and eliminates the pressure on us. I thought that was such a great perspective to have. Productivity without the burden of pressure on our already complex lives. Just thought I would mention that. ❤😊 I really enjoy your Channel, Thank you!

(Stephen’s wife, Laura) Thank you so much, Carolyn! I so desire to have the productive household so that we can glorify God. I didn’t grow up in a godly, productive home, so I’m learning as an adult. Thank you for sharing what you have learned. You have no idea how much this means to me! May God bless you and your family abundantly beyond all you could imagine for your kindness to others!

For the last couple years I started waking up earlier and earlier. This morning i was up before 4:30am. I do a list every week day, and challenge myself to get everything done by 8am. When kids(4) get up at 8 I have breakfast ready, snacks ready, lunch prepped, and often have dinner in a slowcooker or marinating. I run a company and schedule all my business texts to go out at 8:00 and love the feel of accomplishment at breakfast. After all, we moved to the country to enjoy kids, animals and outdoors... and it's very important to show kids the rewards of hard work. We have only 4 lessons left for this school year. They are so excited for the spring and all the fun outdoor projects that come with it. Looking forward to more info in these series. God bless your family!

100% agree. We also have sat down as a family and made a list of meals they enjoy. Family favorites. Things they like to make/bake. It helps to delegate some of the cooking to the older children and gives me my 15 mins of office time.

Thank you for this! I’m a homeschooling momma of 3 and am struggling with my duties. We have a small home “farm”....chickens, a large garden in winter and summer, then household chores, schooling....I get overwhelmed! I always wanted a large family but it feels daunting to me because I’m struggling with just 3! 😂

We used to use the time doing morning chores to review what we learned the day or days before. Q&A time if you will. Eliminates lesson time wasted on review.

She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Proverbs 31:27 KJV We are a family with 5 children (at the moment 😉) and homeschool the typical way from the end of August-end of May. However, I'm finding that it poses as a bit of a challenge in the different seasons in our homestead (planting, harvest, canning, etc.) by pulling our time between farm work and school. Granted our older two are in 2nd and K so they are still needing me to teach. But does your family homeschool year round and take breaks during bigger seasons on the homestead? Or do you school the typical Aug-May/Sept-June? Or do it a different way? Thanks for the video!

Thanks for sharing organizational strategies! These strategies are great no matter what kind of household you are responsible for, no matter how many members it has, no matter what age the members are, no matter the setting (ranges from urban to rural). I look at is as evolving rather than getting better, but I think we are referring to the same thing really. Things change, constantly, and if we don't change with them then our strategies become redundant and function poorly. I have always kept a notebook with all of this information in it, a seperate one for the garden.

Thank you for your tips and advice, extremely useful as always. I want to ask if you could do a tour of your kitchen appliances and explain why it's useful to your family, and whether you've previously purchased and eventually gotten rid of things that didn't work for you anymore. I'm asking because I'm considering one or two appliance purchases and I'm not sure whether it will be truly helpful and fit into our future homesteading life, or whether it will just eventually end up taking up space and turn into a white elephant.

Thank you! I've never commented before, but this series is soooo helpful! I'm finding it very hard to juggle all the animal/homestead care and get the school work and house work done. If we had a great productive day with house work and animal care, at the end of the day I feel deflated because we only managed to do 2 school subjects! My kids are 11, 4, and 21 months, and my husband is gone for 10 hours a day 5-6 days a week. We have 1 day he's home for sure and we cram it full of projects and to dos but there never seems to be enough time.
