In this episode, I'll share with you my pre-market day trading strategy. Trading pre-market means anytime between 4am-9:30am ET. I generally start trading between 8-9am, and trade actively until 10-11am, meaning about 1/2 my trading is pre-market.
My strategy for trading pre-market is to use stock scanners to search for stocks squeezing up quickly. Generally these stocks have a news event (catalyst) that is driving them higher. My goal is to buy high and sell higher, capturing quick profits on the move up.

As useful as the technical information is, the most interesting thing I have learned from Ross, is how, no matter how successful you become, the emotion battle never goes away. For new traders, it is expected. But even if you eventually build $8M+ in profit (which is literally a dream for new traders), the emotional battle will still be there. It's not like you reach a certain level, and feel fine on a red day. Its more like, no matter how many home runs you hit in your career, striking out still bothers you - particularly when it happens multiple times in a row. Its just interesting human nature.

Really enjoyed this tonight, first real tutorial I have seen on pre market, just goes to show, you don’t have to wait for the bell to trade and as I am a complete night owl, don’t go to bed until about 6am, I might get lucky and crab a few trades, before I hit the sack. The thought of being green, before the day has even started or while I am getting my head down, makes for a sweet dream. But talk is cheap, you got to accomplish it and this is what I am working my way towards doing. I can’t wait to get started as each week goes past, the anxiety try’s to get the better of me, but I won’t let it, know matter what happens it’s not going to happen, until at such time l, know I can do this successfully. That I really do believe I have to look forward to. So a great tutorial once again, learnt well from this and it’s another notch on my trading crib board, it’s starting to look a little different now. Thanks for the lesson ross. Bill

Some of the best moves happen early in premarket. I’m lucky to have moved to Spain, so good premarket moves start between 9 and 10am here, and continue through to 2 hours after market open at 5:30 pm.

Hi Ross, thanks for the information. How can one manage risk during extended market hours? Limit orders and extended market orders are effective for setting profit targets, but they don’t seem to work well for stop orders to exit at a loss or break even. Is it correct that trading during extended market hours requires constant screen monitoring? Thanks!

Thanks for everything you do. I’m curious about premarket daily volume to average volume ratios. I’m finding it hard to find stocks that have a favorable ratio early premarket, sometimes it’s hard to even find a daily volume that’s higher than the average volume let alone 1-5 times the average. Do you ever make exceptions to this rule when it’s let’s say 4am-7:30ish? Thanks again

There are a ton of very good trading platforms and tools available for traders. Ross typically uses Lightspeed for brokerage, eSignal for charting, and the Warrior Trading scanners to find stocks.

The best way to make profit in the market is to invest them!!. Don't hold!. Invest with a Pro-trader instead. I would advise you all to trade your asset now rather than hold for a future you aren't sure about. Ross uses hotkeys to execute his stops, so he doesn't have to worry about that.

@@DaytradeWarrior if I understand the hot keys like I think I do they only buy or sale with the click of a key. You can set it up to where it buys with your specific stop but pre market doesn’t allow stops so wouldn’t that be an issue? Or have the rules changed and you can use stops pre market 🤷🏼‍♂️. I do have one question. Do you think the stock market could ever get saturated to the point where it’s impossible for people to make money or is that just not possible? Maybe it’s a stupid question. Like what if millions of people became good at daytrading for example
