How to Deactivate Facebook Account 

Why can't Facebook just make it simple for users to delete their account without making it so complex and inconvenient. Really gives me the creeps to open a new account in future.

Btw this is not what I'm seeing on my end. Same everything except there is no deletion tab.

Just so everyone knows there is no real way to ever delete your profile from Facebook. I had a friend who committed suicide and posted a bunch of stuff talking about it and after he did it the family was so distraught that they gained access to his FB account to try and erase everything and went through the methods mentioned in this video. They chose Delete permanent. It asked them a bunch of dumb ass questions like are you sure and they were like yes we're sure erase everything. Thing is that I can still search his name and it pops up instantly and goes right back to his profile page and shows everything. Facebook owns you ever since the day you made an account. All those weird ass sites that asked you to log in with your FB account never forgot you. It could be Farmville or whatever your name and account is forever locked into the matrix. It's not in FB's interest to have you just up and delete yourself. They still want to make money off your dead ass be it through AD's or whatever. Facebook is literally Skynet and all I can say is your best option is to throw away all your devices and go live off the grid.

On desktop: Click in the top right of Facebook. -> Settings and privacy -> settings -> personal details -> personal details -> account ownership and control -> deactivation or deletion

Too many steps involved. You keep reading the list and it is very confusing. Just get straight to the point. I am considering permanently close my fb page. There are too many schemers and too many advertisements.

Tried this on 3/15/23 and under "your facebook information" the deactivation is no longer there. FYI
