Lot of fans asked for more in depth technique videos, here is a good one with Big Daddy and is infamous "Dead Wrist Press". If you want to learn more about a specific move, tell us in the comments. Host by Neil Pikcup
@@UnfilteredVibesItalia Hi Jerry, I am adding the link to your new channel videos featuring you so that you have a "funnel" onto your main channel: ru-vid.com/show-UCFpsqRC7xiE2IdJZtjY0SZw
He weighs 330 or 340 and does 405 10 times AFTER killing himself on 225 and 315. That is crazy. Given i only weighed 180 to 185 at the time, 17 reps was the most i ever got with 225.
Absolutely insane numbers. Who are these animals he's lifting with that are making him think a 225x60 warm up set is baby weight? Or that poker-hands with 45lb plates is kid stuff?
Enjoying these vids neil. its only because of youtube i found out how big this industry is, i pulled a bit locally a few years back (Lincolnshire/Sheffield pubs mainly) and had no idea how big the sport was goin to blow up. Then i heard your voice in a video and i was like nahhh no way it can't be, shit it is its neil. as a massive strongman fan i obviously recognised your voice. you just need to get Colin to be your MC on WAL now.
@@flavioahmetlli2160 I mean it's the same idea as Todd vs Chaffee. It just makes no sense because they're super heavy versions of him just much bigger humans stronger in that same type of lane than him
Would love to see Jerry teaching Eddie Hall how to tricep press effectively in his upcoming match against RVJ and get in the right positions for it. Eddie's so so strong with pressing motions he could be devastating if he's taught how to do it correctly, Jerry would be a good tutor for that.
Its because people dont really respect the technique.. Same with Michael Todd.. If people like Devon, Jerry, and Michael had to do table, sit-down arm-wrestling, where it was all about arm power, they would never win... People like Lupkes and Denis would reign supreme. I think people, even to this day, respect pure arm strength over the technical aspects and more gimmicky techniques used to get W's.. But someone like me, who has arm wrestled his whole life, I respect people like Michael and Jerry, because they found ways to win and things that work for them. Altho, Todd's King move only really works in WAL.
@@jesseherndon7328 Barbell press is different, no balance aspect. I can do 40kg each hand, but I know I cant load up 40kg on the bench and do that one handed...
I just want to see him rep it 60 times lmao. The most reps i got was 17 in my prime. Something i could relate to. One handed bench press just seems weird
Around 09:26 mark, while talking about exercises Jerry says “I hold it like this at 45 degree angle” but what he shows is 90 degrees, is it not? What is the correct angle to hang or hold the plate?
Jerry is incredibly strong! I don't know if his press could be effective against Dave, but it sure is vs Michael. With fair start and proper heavyweight strap he'd likely be the next hammer holder.
Has he beat Devon? Serious question, I don’t remember that ever happening. Lol. Only remember Devon’s “I’m way too strong jerry!! Way too strong! Ah” Jerry is badass though. One of my favorite pullers. Flat finger pull-ups at 330 lbs? Geez.
Haagen Neldeberg Nah mate, I did say “The Brokeback Mountain” 😂🤣😂 it was a Nickname I used to take the P*ss out of Jerry with back in the day for fun. His ARM WARS Nickname is my favourite for him though “The GimgerDread Man”.
@Matthew Wiley Yep, that time when he beat him in the position where jerry feels like "He can't lose" but still Jerry is awesome. He could've and should've won 506 but anyhow it just showed that Todd is super dilusional because he thought that he would be able to jsut run throught Jerry 3-0 ahahahah. Devon is going to crush him next year.
I see the stamina part for 225 for 60 but even 405 for 10, if he wants more strenght should he try heavier for around 5 reps after a warmup , alot of workout theory out here but just asking
Really enjoyed Neil Pikup on Ryan Espey's -Chris Gobby's Crossfire channel the other day. As for this video ...I just think its a shame Jerry doesn't have the stamina to beat a King's Mover (Todd) or a man that can catch that big hit (Devon) Even in this video he is gassing and struggling for air. FATTY lol
I know people think Jerry only has the press, but lemme just say hes strong as fuck without it. His press is just his most powerful tool. Incredible strength to blow through people like Matt Mask and Todd Hutchings.
Gotta love arm wrestling, where else can you grown me hold hands for a 15 min video while looking into each other's eyes and not feel awkward about it, lol
But when i'm pushing, the power comes from my tricep? Like a weird tricep pushdown? How do i get the other guys hand down by using my shoulder / other muscles?
Shoulder is pretty much the internal rotation to help get to the position you want to press as well as moving it in is the frame blocking position that allows the dominant position it is. It's a lot like a bench but if you imagine it across the midline with just one arm and you arent fully extending it either, it's that strength plane.
It's Amazing how he can do what he does against men of that size, if any one else try this to a bigger stronger man that is committed to win, if your arm is not prepared, you will just break your arm.
This was an awesome interview! I was super impressed by his claim of 225 for 60 reps and also one arm! Insane stuff. I'd love to see a vid of him performing that one arm bench with 225.
Awesome interview. A lot of things missing that I wanted to see regarding defense, counters that have worked against him, losses, etc. His press is sick and then 225lbs for 60 (especially if consecutive) sounded like a normal, casual first set for him. Genuinely great interview from someone you don't hear from often.
The fact that Jerry has a 9-1 record vs Travis made my week. I also have a very strong suspicion that Laletin would be an easy win for Big Daddy due to his style.
I really love these breakdowns. I think it would benefit the sport greatly if you guys (WAL) developed more video packages covering who your various competitors are and what makes them tick. For example, we know a lot about Devon and even Todd, but other than those two through their own personal RU-vid vids, we don't get to see much about the character of the others behind the scenes. Training footage, interviews, etc. If you do it, don't spice it up too much. Just let the athletes tell their own stories about who they are and maybe do a signature technique breakdown similar to how was done in the above video of Jerry. The coverage is getting better, but there's a ton of room for more. Please don't take this as me criticizing the WAL, but rather as an insight into what some of what the true fans want.
