I think the "bad" clients represent only 0.00000001% of your clients because you know how to make people relax and happy.

TheWhitePhoenix2 no it's a not bad to be quite. As an LMT, I let the client take the lead in terms of conversation or being quite. When I get massage, I don't like to talk.

Showering and staying quiet are good. You're on the right track.

If your getting deep tissue you and the therapist need to communicate often about pressure, i use a scale of 1-10 and i like to have my clients at a 7 or what is known as the therapeutic edge, the sweet spot before it tips over into the OMG THIS IS FUCKING HELL!! Lol thats why its so import to communicate back and forth so you get the best results. Relaxation massage however is a light to medium pressure, so your therapist should establish suitable pressure for you at the beginning, this one you can fall asleep in. Remember Deep tissue is not a relaxation massage, and its also not ment to be painful contrary to what many clients believe, it just puts the client into a sympathetic state aka fight or flight. Deep tissue simply means accessing deeper muscles and its awesome thrown in with a little Myofascial release therapy

My therapist likes to talk because I tend to forget to breathe when she's getting really deep into a muscle. Just depends on what you want/need.

they pay you for an hour of your time and skill. I'm going to be a student and learn MT soon! but as a customer, I assume and would agree that the hour i paid for means if i am 15 minutes late, i get a 45 minute massage. its just being an adult.. i know life happens but if you have good communication then really its your choice.

lai Cheng I tell clients to turn off or put it on vibrate and leave it in their pocket or purse when I do my consultation. If someone says, I have a babysitter at home with small ones for emergency’s. I will let them have it near by on a counter. I had a client with a phone that kept checking her Facebook during a section 🙄

If you work on your own, remember that YOU are the boss! write your policies and make sure your clients respect them. if they disagree, they'll find another MT! how disrespectfull people can be with these smartphones nowadays!

You’re the LMT. You’re always in control no matter what the client says or thinks. The customer is NOT ALWAYS RIGHT! Plus with the phone in their hands there’s a possibility they’re really recording. Just tell them to put it on the counter on Silent, Do Not Disturb, Airplane Mode or OFF. You need to be comfortable as well while you work

Lol. You can't say to a client, "You smell like feet and ass. Get out." The most you could do is tell them to take a warm/hot bath/shower before a session to loosen up their muscles.

@@randomuser1105 of course we can say it! if they are enough disrespectfull to you to come stinking bad on your massage table, then you can say something. but most of us MT, don't feel secure enough to do it the rude way, we often choose the soft way to say it. but if it happens twice, how will you manage? I know a friend of mine, he's telling his clients laughing loud: god! you smell so bad! you wanna kill me? usually it works well for him...
