This is a new position I have been working on which is great for no-gi and Gi when dealing with old school guard passers that stay heavy on the knees when passing.

✍🏻TESTIMONIALS
“It's honestly by far the greatest content I've seen on BJJ and I've bought, watched, and read over 50 hours of content in just this year alone.” Antoine B.
“Kit Dale’s conceptual approach really works for me. As someone who only started training late in their early 30s it feels like a much more efficient way to learn. Which is important considering I have to scrape together hours to train each week between work and family commitments.” Cam G.
"I watched volume 1 of The Art of Jiu Jitsu. Then I went to class and instantaneously performed effortless sweeps and maintained my base in every roll. I am shocked at how 3 principles stated out loud improved my game." Sean R.
"The approach to Jiu Jitsu outlined in your videos are pure gold. Kit Dale is the Tim Ferris of Jiu Jitsu! Thank you for putting this out. I have a new plan for learning and to teach my wife & kids." Mike K.

SUCCESS STORY: I'm pretty new and learned this from this video about 6 months ago and it has been a go to panic move ever since I started to succeed with it. I have come to love it mostly because it slows everyone down, but you really need to rename it since it has taken me forever to find it again. I recommend something like, the Dale lock. Now that I do have it, I can finally refer back to it because I did miss/forgot the foot hook prevention component. I have just been flopping into side control with it but I see there is so much more I can do with it. Really, Thank you for sharing this secret technique which is the real deal and it has helped me SO much!

+Marvin Hunter I uses this too and its Killer, I have also been mixing this with the barratoplata series as allot of the guys I train with have started to try and tuck their arm back in... works perfectly, Great set up into a whole chain of different positions for when you open you guard. Good luck brah

Joe Moriera shows this set-up and the various locks that flow from it on his Brown Belt series, old Panther VHS stuff. I should convert and upload some time. Solid stuff, high % jits. Nice work, Kit.

I pulled off the sweep from here a couple of times now. Allot of pressure on the opponents shoulder for sure. I like it and am going to add this to my arsenal.

Thank you. I was taught something similar using the gi - pulling it out at their waist and around their tricep of the arm you're attacking, gripped by your cross arm. Locks it in nice. This is simpler and always there. Excited to give it a try.

Hey Kit, thanks for the video. We worked this position a bit in class after I passed your video along to my instructor (Chris McCune in Minnesota,USA) -- don't worry, he gave you ample credit. We just worked the kimura from full guard -- just lock it up, and start to hip out. It's really a novel position -- and once you have it locked, they aren't going anywhere (as long as you don't let them rotate to the same side). Keep up the good work, much love from minnesota!

Very Nice 👍. Strong Position!. Just like a reverse 🔀 Kimura and we know how strong, Leverage Wise the Kimura is, especially when ur Elbows are tucked into ur body, Very Strong and you can control ur partner or opponent threw different positions and pick ur one to stop at. I.e Back, Mount, Side etc. These are the only option's that i see Kit, controlling options to get you to a better position. Very Nice Addition to your Kimura game. I'll Certainly be training it!. Brilliant as alway's Kit 😊👍. After purchasing 'Beyond Technique 2' I'd like to point out to everyone (Or Anyone) that, that project with Nic, Beyond 1 and 2 are excellent for people looking to fast track there learning threw concept based learning. It's ALL good stuff. Great Chemistry, obvious you both get on (That's not hard with Nic though, I've dealt with him a few time's and have lot of his stuff also as you will know if you ever read this Kit that he's a Gentleman). Hope to see more project's from both of you in the future! 👍....

right after the inversion when you're rolling up - is a really good opportunity to leg scissor your opponent's neck. with that figure 4 on the arm it's hard for him to go anywhere.

Great stuff as always! We at our gym have tried out this technique and we find 2 problem in the position and wondering if you can help: 1.) it seems that there is no posture control so the guy who got his arm trap will try all his might to pull it out; 2) even if we manage to trap the arm, the bottom leg always have a hard time to get out.... it maybe either the guy is trapping it so he can straighten his arm and get out or it just that the opening of the legs will losen the grip on the arm (as it is hard to maintain that 90 degree angle trap when the body is moving away)... just wondering if you have the same problem?
@MeGuitarBJJ
@MeGuitarBJJ 10 лет назад
hey mate im one of kits students and have played heaps with this grip, in regards to the posture if your holding the grip correctly they shouldn't be able to, when you have the grip make sure you sort of twist your body in and keep the arm bent they wont be able to posture or pull the arm out.the only way for them to pull out is if they step right in and if they do that you can sweep them quiet easily because they have to give your their feet. and getting your leg out can be a problem sometimes but when it becomes an issue start looking at triangles or simply use you other foot on there hip to hip out. this is what i do anyway

Hey Kit, why doesn't it matter if he passes to your right? Is it because you have the legs to stretch him out even if he goes to your right? Wouldn't he have side control then?
