I think some people try to make you mad on purpose, it's strategy, it's easier to fight a person who you know their thoughts. Stay calm and shit on them.
It can help to understand why someone would even choose to be toxic in a fighting game. One reason is that, it's a way to take someone's mind out of the game and make them focus on their own "salt" instead of what is actually going on in the game. This is actually a thing for those who don't know or never thought about it. It can be considered a dirty way of playing, but it is something that exists within competition.
Anytime i see someone t bagging or ki charging, i just think to myself, "Someone hasn't grown up yet." Some people really just need to stretch that win because they got nothing else going for them. Plus, one thing i like to qoute from my boxing days was a saying someone shared with me. "If you can't handle losing, then you don't deserve to win."
At some point in your journey, the only way to get better is to learn how to control the salt. You'll either learn to control it by harnessing it's power, or you'll somehow learn to squash it. Either way, you'll find that once you can get passed it, new lessons and abilites are capable of being unlocked at a much faster rate beyond this point. It can take a person years and it doesn't happen over night. Good luck to you on your journey, y'all ✌️
Awesome vid Anakin, Highly agree with all of your points. got this same mindset. This is your ole ole friend Blake, that azn guy who hosted that southern GA tourney that you went to back in T5dr days p
Equip magic mirror. Problem solved. Lmao. But seriously when some fool is somehow beating me with their braindead shit and Ki charging, yes that can rattle me up a bit, but I am not angry at the guy's antics I am annoyed that I cannot deal with things that should be easy to counter. I guess in the end all boils down to git gud.
No, hold onto that anger. Train super hard for weeks then pray the universe matches you up again. Then stomp and ki charge when you win. Didn't know anakin was toxicman I fought him several times.
The best way to deal with toxic players and tactics if you're not trying to play into that kind of attitude is to just register to yourself that the guy is being toxic and then just accept it. Just shake your head and chuckle it off. The person is just being egotistical and there's no reason to let yourself be drawn into or torn down by it. It's just a game! From that point just change your motivation from trying to win to just riding things out until the end of the match. Just stop trying to get the upper hand on them and be okay with whatever happens. Then just don't rematch them.
2:21 perfectly said. As a psychologist, you are actually giving amazing life advice that can be used in many different aspects of life. Reasons I love video games:
Here’s my advice, as a now Fujin rank player( as of today😅) it took blood sweat and tears just to get to that rank, and let me tell you, going from loss to loss to win to win, you start to get fatigued and I often find myself enjoying the experience the more I play, even if the opponent is toxic, I have fun and learn the match up the more I play against different characters. Sure you’re gonna have your spammers and pluggers, but as long as you respect the grind, take the time to learn your character by playing unranked, you’ll be set. I was stuck in battle ruler for this entire week and I was getting frustrated, but the more you play the more you start to learn. Hope this advice helps anyone🙌
Anyone else playing this game experiencing buttons not being imputed but you know you’re on time? Swear this has been happening since I got the game on Feb
I think most people for example of they swallow any 2hit or 3 hit string and during fight they see how they can punish... On block or duck before last hit we're saying. "No problem I will punish this and this next time during even tournament fight but they never did" Only during labbing in practice mode we see it wasn't so easy as we're thinking and knowing and doing this and this punish are 2 different things. For 1st time during labbing any string or 1 hit punisher we're saying "yeah yeah I will crush it in 1st time 😒" but when it comes to it it takes at least 3 times to figure out correct timing and control that stress
This doesn't just apply to Tekken but to other fighters such as SF6 and so on. Either way, this was pretty helpful overall whenever playing your fighting game of choice whether it's 2D or 3D. 👍
I only teabag when people use simplified controls or mash random buttons. I don’t understand how you expect getting better in this game playing like this
I just accept that I’m a loser and lower the expectations but play as if there’s a lot on the line however I have gotten upset to the point it’s gotten the better of me and I’m not proud of it but seeing progression does help easy the anger
It's easier to ignore toxicity in a fighting game since the matches are quick and you can just quickly go to the next match even if the opponent is kicharging unlike team based games where you have to sit for almost an hour while your teammates are flaming you
I sometimes get mad when I run into a spammer player or dealing with mind games players and also having a hard time fighting patience players because they are hard to beat. Sometimes, it makes me don’t want to play, tekken 8 anymore because there’s so many toxic people in the game I am also at level 50 and taking a break from tekken 8 it gets so frustrating that some players that are being toxic gets me trigger like I get it is a game but I hate it when players are backing away the fight and wasting time and also have the nerve to teabag and trolling Every time the fight starts they beat the crap outta me and won the match and I didn’t even get a chance to fight back or play is just frustrating and annoying that they are try hard players that take the game seriously
Sure, having a positive mentality can be helpful but a lot of different factors come into play during the learning process in Tekken. If you're not comfortably playing at the highest online rank yet, then there is this constant doubt and fear that you're not improving fast enough, falling behind and losing against people who have put in way less time than you, ultimately leading to a situation where you feel that your own physical and mental limits will always keep you from ranking up further. And this is where I think the source for most of the frustration lies. I feel it too after a significant losing streak. Because spending a lot of time practicing and then being rewarded by losing more often really hammers home the futility of what you're doing and the time you could've spent on more productively. The rage stems from feelings of inadequacy, regret for the time spent as well as the very direct and blunt confrontation with these feelings when losing consistently. I think for that reason it's less stressful to be a complete Beginner and lose. Because you can always say: "I only lost because my opponent has more experience than me and I have barely spent any time with the game."
Any reason why Anakin's in-game name is Toxicman, except as a joke? His vids on YT are all super chill and not toxic, that I've seen (unless taking losses calmly and trying to beat the opponent next game is toxic).
anakin is way nicer than me man, if you get upset because your opponent is proud of themselves and celebrates their win id just say "idk man self reflect, figure out where your value comes from, consider therapy"
The only thing that gets me mad is when people one and done. They win the first game and when I know the mistake I made I can’t even apply it in the match because they quit out. And no it’s not my connection. They just genuinely don’t rematch and I’m playing a bottom 5 character…
I never get upset in Tekken but I can get annoyed. Dropping combos can be annoying. Also, weird game mechanics that put me in positions that I shouldn’t be in. I do, however, get upset in team games when my team members are terrible.
The reason you get annoyed when someone tbags you KI charges you and a bunch of other things is because you have preconceived expectations you put on yourself, and you want to believe you’re better than them so when you lose and they start taunting you, you get pissed off and you’re like “you’re taunting?! Bro you’re garbage run it back RIGHT NOW” then they one and done you because they know that’s just gonna piss you off even more. Leave your ego at the front door when playing ranked. The way I’ve always handled it is, don’t taunt back, just ignore them, because once you’re frustrated and annoyed you immediately lose the quality of your play and gameplan. Most trolls don’t wanna finish a set, they simply want to win game one, then leave. However once you beat them they always rematch because their hope is they can win game 2 and leave again because to them the only thing that matters is they leave on a high note for their ego. As always though if you’re just annoyed and not having fun take a break. Cuz at the end of the day the goal is to have fun and enjoy the game while you learn. 9 times out of 10 you can tell who’s gonna one and done you. EVERY troll that’s ever one and doned me in T8 I called it a mile away. They’d win game 1 and I’d sit there in my room and say out loud “I bet my life savings you’re gonna leave after game 1” and I was ALWAYS correct. But yeah, in general, take breaks, don’t let them get to you be the bigger person, if you really wanna get your revenge and make them salty in return you can only do that by keeping your head cool, play how you play and download them. Which isn’t too difficult cuz most trolls aren’t skilled players, they just want to abuse a gimmick and hope and pray you don’t know how to deal with it. So go beat their ass I believe in you!
Ive been getting kinda salty lately especially since I got demoted twice with 2 of the only characters im decent with steve and jun. I hate losing to players I know Im better than. It gets me heated
Sometimes i love running into toxic players. Because what usually happens is they try hard so bad. That they get predictable. At that point im just sitting and waiting for the salty flow chart. These types tend to have 0 def. So ill just sit and wait. Let them get comfortable spamming they lil shit and then. Im gonna find one thing i know they cant block. And im doing it over and over again. Tell they ither do somthing about or loose. Soon as they try to block i do somthing els and spam that. Basically i giving them exactly what they put out. And when i win..i will absolutely run it back to crush ur ass even harder. Cuz now i know exactly what your going for And of course im ending it with a bag and taunt when able. If I loose. All well, on to the next one. Could care less. That person had no interest in playing tekken. They was on somthing els. Strictly self gratification, no growth will happen for those players they will forever be stagnant. In game and in life. I'll pick what little I can from the experience and go to the next one. It's so satisfying lol
you're going to lose, bottom line. How you take that loss is on you. If you're losing to scrubby stuff, that ain't nobodys fault but your own. However, if you just accept that you messed up and dedicate time to fix it, its only up from there. You gotta handle loss before you can get better, getting pissy at loss only makes it worse, hence taking breaks when you get mad, which is just healthy in general. Good vid Anakin, as always.
If you get mad at fighting games, you will always get mad at fighting games. It's who you are. No epiphany is going to suddenly hit you, making you less angry at the game. BUT you can learn when to walk away before the anger takes hold.
5:42 fool talks about not caring about rank, and you shouldn’t care about it and then proceeds to not finish a set. Every high rank clown says the same thing and does this when they almost loss their win streak.
We found the wifi warrior amongst us…. No but for real even if I manage a win against someone with shitty internet/ping I won’t rematch. Idk how someone can play or want to play with over 100 ping
consider trying to understand why he might one and done instead of immediately calling him a fool and lumping him in with clowns. ppl will jump on ya when you’re negative AND wrong
