Heat stress has affected every public green space in the country, including St Andrews for The Open, and lawns at home are no different in these tough hot conditions.
❌The plant goes into survival mode (like we all are in the UK) because our grass here is whats called “cool season grasses” so this means the leaf has been sacrificed as everything goes into protecting the root system.
🚰No amount of water will be enough. For now we have to accept that the plant will wilt and go brown. If you do want to water then wait until the evening as it will just evaporate.
💪Lawns on the So & Mo plan will have stronger root systems so once the temperatures drop they will bounce back quickly.
