This was such a good breakdown. I especially liked the advice on mixing metals and wood tones. I love brass but want to mix it up so it isn't overwhelming. I just bought a blonde wood dresser and was wondering if I made a mistake since other pieces are darker. Now I see easy ways it can all work without feeling disjointed. I love my existing pieces I just need to add selectively so they still shine.

Re the wood matching - you should match the undertone and saturation of the wood, people often get it wrong because they have muted and then very yellow or red wood in the wrong tones.

Love this video, very helpful but complementary colors are 2 colors opposite of each other and analogous colors are colors next to each other on the color wheel.

This video was so good, the example photos you chose were perfect.

this was so informative! there’s a lot of videos that discuss this method, but I appreciate that you went further beyond color, and also delved into mixing different woods, metals, fabrics, and patterns. It’s hard sometimes to conceptualize blending these elements, so your explanations and examples were super helpful 👍

I would love to see a video ( or if you have any video recommendations) for colour palletes with multiple different colours like the paint swatches and photos you showed at 13:09 ! Every single video I see only recommend 3 colours with a 60/30/10 split but all the design inspo I love have far more than that, and they all seem to go together, I’m curious about the ratio or how to use many colours!

Hi Alexandria, Im a new subscriber! Any advice for a large dark brown leather sectional with traditional lines? My husband is not on board with replacing. I would like to make it look softer and brighter with throw blankets and pillows.
