I know there should be, but I’ve only been on RU-vid a little over two years. We are all working hard here to get there and bring great content. Please refer the channel to all your friends and family. I truly appreciate your support.😊😊😊
Wow, this video was so helpful as far as color schemes go! My brown, sage and beige with black accents make sense now. I honestly wasn’t sure until now. Thank you Garrett!!
I wondered why the rug in my living room didn't really work until I replaced it with a beautiful thrift shop find - a vintage Ercol coffee table, and the space totally opened up! Thank you, Garrett, I'm about to decorate the living room and needed inspiration!
You always teach me something new! One example: I'm moving from beautiful white terrazo floors (where I wanted them to stand out) to a place with boring beige tile (so I'm going to need a rug).
Thank you very much! I truly appreciate all your support. Let’s get to 1,000,000 plus where we belong. I’ll never let the viewers down or waste their time with useless chatter.😊😊😊
Hey there hi! Another great video thanks! I also love some black in each room. I feel like it anchors any space. Just a little, not a lot. You may not even notice it, but it helps.
I didn't realize how important it was to direct light upwards. This makes so much sense! I'm going to change my lights to cast their light upwards from now on. With three people in the house prone to migraines, this is so important. Thanks!
Garrett, You said "Living room is no just about seating, .." it showed me the true meaning of a living room. You taught me that the living room is not just meant to be inviting to my guests, but also for myself too.
This video was right on time! You must be psychic… I’m going to adjust the lighting in the livingroom now that I know why I hated it so much.😂 Thank you for these fabulous tips. 😊
My entire colour scheme (and a good part of my aesthetic!) sprung from an antique green glazed ginger jar (the real thing, that once held imported Chinese cooking ginger) I found 25 years ago in a second hand shop. It cost me $6. I still love it! Thank you for all the great tips, Garrett! I love your channel - I always watch and like your videos as soon as I see them, even if I don't get a chance to comment. 😊 Hope you and your hubs and the puppers are having a great summer! ❤
Hello! I just started watching you. Love your style, conviction and delivery. Will be seeing more of your channel from now on. You have good content. 🌴🌺
I too, started with patterned pillows, closely matching a similar matching rug. May have mentioned earlier...Love your style! Learning from you always.
A very good morning dear Garrett, What a fantastic video today, putting all the living room things in order of design, just loved it, and simultaneously linking per design episodes is wonderful and so helpful for someone who would have just started:) I had such an ear to ear smile when I heard the colour scheme running at your place, because same pinch, me too😍 Royal blue, cream and accent of pink here as well, thou what brought the really hearty smile on me is even I don’t have pink or say very bare minimum pink in my wardrobe❤ Love that for us🥰 Always tons of thanks for the enlightenment towards the magic of different lightings, I have incorporated it very well. PS : I got a little vintage cast iron bench for my porch today, and guess what it’s a shade of blue with black arms. The seating of front porch was a long pending job and I was looking for the right piece I guess for more than a year now. I saw it at marketplace yesterday and boom piece at home next morning. Now I can for sure enjoy the front garden as well with a hot cup of coffee:) My oasis is the backyard with the pool, swing, daybed and the flowery fruity garden but I always loved the east sun in the front yard with the smell of roses and the wait was worth for the right bench. It’s just perfecto!!! You have a beautiful mid week and the weekend. See you soon!! Much love, Ramani And oh btw I loved your blue shirt and I got so many interruptions today watching your video, started since morning 8 and after 4 important interruptions, finished watching it now at 11:30 AM aus time😬
I felt this was the perfect video for me. I am currently putting my Living/sitting room together in our new home. Currently we have the rug laid out and our light blue 🩵love seats ordered. Today, after a lot of of searching, I found the perfect coffee table. It is a Mid-Century wooded table that is not overwhelming but still has style. We will have to wait until the furniture arrives to see about floor lamps. All our older furniture has moved to the family room in the finished basement, where we have put a new Frame TV by Samsung. So your video on living room, felt well timed. Thanks, Garrett 🤗🤩🇨🇦😊
After watching you for over 4 months, i think it's time i subscribed. I mean, I've watched over 70% of your channel ... makes sense, yes? 😊 Here goes!! By the way ... very informative and easy to understand and apply.
I’m glad you finally subscribed!😊Subscriptions are very important to the growth of the channel so I really appreciate you doing so. Welcome to the channel. It’s great to have you as part of our very valued subscriber family.😊😊😊
Hello 👋 love this video. Very helpful because I’m in the process of custom making my coffee table from this gorgeous mahogany door that has these floral carvings im very excited about it can’t wait to see how it will turn out 😊
Garrett, I am a happy member of the LeChic Family and regularly watch your educational and inspiring videos. I have a question about the 3 color rule. What about the wood tones in furniture, cabinets, and on the floor? Are they colors to be counted in the 3? Also, I’m a fan of light, barely yellow walls. Is that a color in the three? Thank you! So comforting to have access to your expertise! Monika
I have a rose and navy blue color scheme in my living room. I put up a Magritte poster ( ship of ocean water) with Picasso sketches for my gallery wall, and a pink and blue antique stained glass in the picture window. I chose 2 6 x 9 foot chindi rugs for my hardwood floors that are in brown based tones. Don't laugh, they are machine washable!!😅😅😅
@GarrettLeChic I literally just moved into a new apartment and wanted to get a new vibe. I had no clue what to do with my living room and I was just a scrollin' through and there was your video! Super helpful! ❤️
Great information, thank you Garrett. My living room has a high ceiling with large windows on one side to the dining room., the dinning room is at one end the fireplace at the other end. When we moved in it was painted a light grey as is most of the rest of the house. We have a beige sofa and love seat sort of tweed with blue flecks. It is high back and comfortable, but yes I agree one sofa and 2 chairs would be better. Lots of denim solid and lighter blue in pillows and blue and white accessories. I'd like to change the wall colour soon.
May I suggest: If your sofa and love seat are comfortable- keep them! If you don't like the colours- get covers. To put 'balance' in room, put them across from each other, then you could also add a chair between them at one end, and if so desired, at the other end, put an additional chair kind of just slightly angled towards all of the other furniture. That's what I did. (I also put our tv, on an angle, towards all of the furniture directly across from the angled chair, which creates, in totality, a somewhat circular placement of the furniture (even thought the sofa and loveseat are not angled, but straight across from each other). This arrangement is supposed to be good Feng Shui. Whatever the case- works well for my husband and I. I know Garrett is the expert, but thought I would offer some thoughts
@@ShelleybutyoucancallmeShell Thank you Shelley, I have my sofa and love seat across from each other and a coffee table in between, two cream chairs at the end, it seems to work but I'd like to add a little omf. We are artists so we have lots of colourful art.
@@beverleyschenke3668 Well then your place sounds wonderful! Why not paint your walls a whitish colour, to really showcase your art? Lots of nice white paint colours. What we did was just add 8 drops of black into a gallon of white paint. (If I had to do it again, I might change that to 10 to 12 drops per gallon.) I made the mistake (for me) of trying different paint colours. My husband repainted a few times. Turns out that fairly white walls really is more calming,(and brings more light into the living room/dining area) and we have lots of framed big art (canvas prints) that is colorful, as you have. I recently changed my furniture ( new: 2 medium grey sofas and 2 fairly dark brown chairs)in living room. With mainly dark brown wood, and little blackish other art-like pieces, I find it more relaxing, but also am surrounded by art with lots of colour (trees, land, water). Took me many years to figure out what calms my mind, but also feeds my spirit/soul. I wish you the same! (But in a much shorter period of time!)
Hi Marina, this is a piece by Erte, it’s called “La Tosca” I was gifted this piece by my father in law who purchased it in the 90’s. You can find statues like this on eBay or from fine art galleries!
Please… would you ever do decoration for mobile homes. - most of the country has mobile homes and nobody think or help people that invest on renting and having happy tenants - Every time a new tenant I try to create a nice and new look for them. Any help gladly appreciate it. Thank you
Interesting idea, but what help are specifically looking for in decorating a mobile home? I’m curious because many of them are very similar to a smaller traditionally built home.
Any advice on a reupholstered fabric on a large wing back chair that would pair nicely with a light sage sofa and loveseat. It's too grand a chair for a solid fabric it must stand out. The chair is old, in good condition from a quality store, covered in a multi checked pattern it worked at the time. There is sage in the check. Any thoughts on rich looking fabrics? Either that or I'm getting rid of the sofas and starting over. Thanks Garrett! Love your videos.
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed. I’m hoping to start a virtual service for individual interior decorating consultations in the future because I need to see the furniture and have a discussion before giving my opinion about a specific situation. 😊😊😊
I now offer a virtual consultation service, and I would be glad to give you my opinions. The link to book a consultation is: intro.co/garrettlechic Look forward to virtually meeting with you and seeing your living room! 😊😊😊
I have a beige sofa and too blues chairs with beiges , I know I can do blue and beiges and whites tones but what other color I can use to decorate? I have a plant 🌱 can I use green tones ?
At this time I’m not offering individual decorating consultations, and I need to see what I’m being asked about, but we are hoping to offer a virtual service in the future for individual decorating consultations on a limited schedule basis.
Garrett, would you share some recommended sites for rugs? I had laminate flooring installed in my home and now need to purchase rugs for my living room and dining area.
Absolutely not. They are meant to go on hard surfaces. It can be a trip hazard and it’s not a very elevated way of decorating a home. There are much better ways to bring interest into a room than rugs over carpet. I’ve discussed that subject throughout my videos.
Garrett, First I love all your videos You always say don’t buy furniture set but I do have a brown leather 4 piece couch set and I do not want to buy another one and my house is small I do not have any other couch or chairs to mix and match so can you please give some ideas of how to not feel matchy matchy What can I do and I’m sure there are other people who have the same problem like me Your advice will be much appreciated Thank you 🙏
Thanks so much! I’m glad you are enjoying the content, and I appreciate your support. In order to give an opinion on your question I’d have to see the space and furniture. In the future, I’m hoping to offer a virtual service on a limited schedule basis for individual interior decorating consultations.😊😊😊
If I start a virtual interior decorating consultation service in the future you will be able to book an appointment and do that, but at this time I’m not offering that service. Thanks for thinking of me. 😊😊😊
Because of my mobility issues, I had to get a regular recliner bc I needed the kind that help me out of the chair. I tried to pick a really interesting fabric that will complement my future furniture moving. I'm going to switch out the family room with the living room.
Thank you! It’s from the brand Theodore Alexander. Thanks for watching. Please take a moment to support the channel, and become a very valued subscriber.😊😊😊
