How I do Sort against Bunch is call Cover 9 or cover 2. Hard flat CB and off man him. If it's cover 2, I play Hook to cover any drag from the bunch. I take the star, play over the point man. At the Snap of the ball play outside leverage looking for the Sail route. If they go in, I try to undercut any dig route from underneath. If they run Verts, I apex the two outside wheels.
Nice . I'm definitely adding this to defending bunch. I used to play a lot of cover 9 and user the corner. Only I ssues I had was getting high lowed in the flat...but defenses have to give up something. Your application covers that weakness. I love your thinking
One thing though is I always hate hard flatting anyone...becuase if no one goes to the flat, he just sits in the flat as a wasted player instead of getting depth and playing in windows
@@XandoFootball the funny thing about the hard flat on this is that for Verts, backing off the hard flat makes the outside wheel a near impossible throw for the first 10 yards. And then after that, I get a nice amount of picks on late thrown drags because it seems has if that CB really jumps it after it passes the the 3rec area. It could also be an AWR thing because I typically play with teams with 80+ corners
I tend to do the same thing. Try to translate real concepts to madden but also try to fix the holes created by madden. One thing I will say is, the bunch on the left side of the field performs completely different than when the bunch is on the right so always run the bunch both ways. I either lock one or more of the bunch wr's and the rb with the weak side quarter defender so he doesn't hesitate on the rb route or I play a zone drop coverage using cover 9 with 30 yrds cloud flats, then shade down and put the weak sub lb back into a curl flat , add a 3 rec or qb spy and guard any crossers etc myself with the sub lb ...Compression sets just give match coverage issues as a whole right now. I think on regs you can get away with doing things different because not every team has wr apprentice's or HRM. Another issue is bunch flippers. Sometimes keeping it simple is the best answer on madden. Are you able to get all the adjustments off if they flip the bunch last second on you.
I haven't tried that out yet. Problem is, when I find something out, I play online and try to get as many real world examples due to the endless hot route schemes people do online. Over the past 2 weeks, surprisingly, haven't seen a lot of bunch at all . . . . and no flippers. I imagine it shouldn't be that bad because all we do is man the quarter flat on the point.

thanks for these videos, we have a 32 user CFM that tries its best to emulate real football and not MUT/regs, so these coverage tutorials are helpful because they barely require any adjustments (hot routes) and are allowed within our rules, will be helpful for a lot of our users. not just a random MUT defense with a ton of changes lol, the core play is still intact

your assumption on dun are correct..i started running it because the chargers pass pro is abysmal (for throwing deep) so i run to set up playaction to get yards down field ..i run duo for the reason u stated to dbl team the dline user or the inside stuff...motion shifts confuse dudes...why would i try to pass when i can run...dudes watch too much mcs and twitch .. bren watching cody for years..that dude is the truth...salute
Yea watching mcs is so cringe. I've seen videos of them playing in quarters/dime literally every play in 2 man, and their opponent just never ever run it. It literally makes no sense whatsoever.
An idea for a split field coverage w/ this check would be With Cover 2 match backside, I’d probably label it 20-traffic (cover 2 cut, and this traffic check, which seems to be a 0 coverage) This would also fit well with a dolphins blitz style scheme

I remember you talking about Cody Alexander, I want to say he has a few videos on what do for it. ik he mentions man-ing the #1 and then playing it like 3x1 from the 2 in. if that makes sense haha this vid has inspired me to figure that out. Ik c6/9 still match 4 strong...however if I can add in a few other plays id be happy.
Man, I struggle against running teams. Football is a numbers game. When a team wants to focus on stopping the run in real football, they'll usually play some kind of single-high (Cover 3 or Cover 1) since you get an extra defender in the box. Make sure you're matching personnel. Don't come out in a nickel or dime formation if the offense has called 21, 11 or 12 personnel because you'll be at a disadvantage in terms of size. I think you're supposed to slide your defensive line to the running strength of the formation but you can play around with it to see what works. You can also learn what your run fits are as the user to help amplify your game. If you're playing against a skilled opponent and you're worried about the potential of the play-action pass, then you can play Quarters to make sure you're set against deep throws. The play-art that Madden has for Quarters is misleading. I think most people assume that Cover 4 is a poor defense to call against the run, but it's actually not since the safeties have run fits, which means you can get 9 defenders in the box. I would encourage you to user one of the safeties so that you can manually move him closer to the box pre-snap. One thing I dislike about Madden is some of the overpowered animations that running backs get where they fall forward making it more difficult to get solid tackles. That's just something you have to deal with.

Btw if you're looking for blitzes try these blitzes using palms...You blitz the solo cb then man up the wk safety to the solo wr and wk lb to the rb , or blitz the wk safety and man up the solo cb to the solo wr and wk lb to rb, or blitz wk lb and the lb in the 3 rec and man up solo cb to the solo wr and wk safety to the rb. These are real concepts used. I think I got them from TCU but don't quote me. You're basically playing special on the 3 wr side and running a cover 0 blitz on the solo wr side.
Yes...but Not a big gain because the Corner should rally for the tackle. There is no such thing as a perfect defense. In part II of the traffic check, I show in video how you can shift the traffic check. You can compensate for that with that check. Or remain in box. Or play Bingo . . . or user the corner in the traffic check to aggressively jump the flat {I wouldn't advice that though}
The coding of Madden is cursed. Have to accept the fact that things just will not work in certain situations. For instance - Man Match zone principals don't work against 4 strong. Bugs with Match against different sets...Etc. Hearing this does not surprise me. I'll end up taking a look at it - but in the end, Madden will be Madden.@@criticaloptimist7961

Dude I can’t get this to work at all and I run match 99% of the game that outside corner just drops out into his normal deep outside quarter giving up easy stuff outside right
