Part 1 of Advanced Doubles Defence coming next week... Is there anything you guys want to know about this topic? 🏸 Hope you enjoy this video and don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss our upcoming Advanced Defence videos! 💥
Thank you for this basics of doubles defence video. I'm sure these tips alone will improve my doubles defense drastically. How do we handle smashes directed at the body rather than at a specific part of the court?
Thanks for inviting, guys! Super love your channel, btw. Oh, gosh, so many things to dig into, really, but perhaps something on how to move the opponents (out of position) through varied lifting to the sides? I hope my question makes sense😘😘
Just want to know what size and weight I should get. Also is the make of pan important bearing in mind i'm a middling club player playing mainly doubles levels
We would definitely disagree with this! For example if your opponents are good in the flat game and you try and counter you may be in more trouble! This is especially hard if they are in a good position in attack. If you lift again then you might be able to counter on the shot after that when you are in a better position!
The quality of these videos just keeps getting better and better! Some feedback: would've been good to have a big red X or big green tick at the segment at 0:47 to clearly show which is right and wrong, like you did at 2:00 :)
No matter how much i have played badminton, I always find myself coming back to these videos to correct my stance and improve my fundamentals. GREAT VID!!
It's Not Spoonfeed! It is Demostrating you a specific shot(s) n Variations in real time, so you can Observe! [ How you n ur Coaches handle it is a different matter]
Great tips! Really need to improve on my backhand defense. Being a south paw myself, I love that both of you are lefties so I can follow more easily. Thank you guys!
I try standing in this position for defence but my opponent sometimes hits a clear a drop in which case it becomes considerably harder to take those shots
OMG finally my problem has been solved, all of my step are correct except the point that you've mentioned *Body weight over the balls of feet* was the feeling I've been looking for in terms of consistency on my defenses especially high lift defense. Thank you very much for the info. From Malaysia
can you please do videos about rotation and why some athletes, the front player always in front of their partner (not in the middle or T area) when their partner do smashing ?
Thanks for the suggestion Jerry! We have done this video on doubles rotation here and we hope that answers your question: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XcM2SsgXNg8.html
That space you are recording in, is it a public court? And where is it located? My country doesnt have facilities like this, so i wanna see what closest country has these kinds of facilities, my doubles partner and i can only dream of practicing in a place like that
I noticed you both are left handed. Does it mean that the first part should be standing toward the weak hand side when defending? (Right handed toward the left, while left handed toward the right)
Great information and training videos. Unfortunately for me the gang i play with only want to play and not look to traing for advancement. Some years ago I was lucky to have training with a Chris Turner who is a great coach. Now unable to find him. How can I find a coach in East Sussex. Thank you both so helpful
As told you earlier also I am still at very low level but still learning alot from you both 🙏 आदत पड गई है क्या करें बैकहैंड से लेते ही नहीं सीधे उठा देतें हैं और फिर अगली शॉट और भयंकर आती है 🤣
We're very lucky that we fall under 'elite sport guidance' where we have to follow very strict protocols, but we are still able to train. We are very grateful for that 😇
Over 150 comments and you replied to everyone. Now that's Defense. I play with nylon shuttle, do you think these tips will work against its clumsiness. 🏸
Thank you so much - we try to reply to every comment we get! Although it's getting increasingly harder haha! And yes definitely, even though you won't be able to generate as much control with the plastic shuttles you can still work on getting the right techniques etc!
In the cross court defence you went slyly to a non racket foot leading without mentioning the nuances ... like that one and as one comment suggested racket side waist or under the arm level smash defence strategy.
Hello Jenny and Greg, i usually get muscle pain on my arm after every game. It’s around slightly below and above the elbow. I believe it’s from my backhand defense. I dont do big swings on my backhand to generate speed and power to drive the shuttlecock back. Is this wrong? What could be wrong in my approach? And whats the proper approach? Thanks for the help!
Pure gold!! Thank you , I have so many good take home points from this video I can’t wait to try them out and also for the next video 😃 Thanks again for your hard work on these videos
Watched so many of these great vids and only just noticed that both of the guys are lefties. Mind you, shouldn't surprise me, I can be halfway through a game before I notice one of my opponents is a leftie 🙄 🤣
how/when to use net play to convert defense into offense, especially in mens doubles. also, maybe in another video, jockeying for the attack in beginning of rally
Of course, if you are a left handed player like the guy in the video, and you try to defend right handed, as he does at one point, you probably aren't going to do it very effectively regardless of whether you're defending off your back hand or forehand.
( i am a right handed player)In singles, i don't understand where the opponent is going to hit the smash.when I hold the racquet in forehand grip the opponent hits the smash in towards my left side. pls give me a tip to handle this situation.
Thanks.. Please can you help advise on the sidewards foot work in doubles, when your partner is at the net and you are at one side of the court at the back. Sometimes i end up running, though i am in attacking position..so need your advise on smoother foot wirk
