I think you just reverse the same hose from used when inflating. In the air pump there is a side or front connector for that, (not the same used for inflating). And then just Press the bubbles button and it will speed up the deflating a lot.
is it unrealistic to inflate, fill, heat up and deflate it every week? Im thinking of adding it to the gym backyard but it will take up to much room if I leave it permanently out so im thinking every weekend I have it on then during the week have it packed away
Why dont you use the deflation atatchment that connects to your pump and should come with the inflation pipe, if it didnt come with one you should buy one it get all the air out which helps when packing away
Why would you not use it when its cold. If you set it to not go below 8c then youcan still habe it going on a cold winter's night with a glass of wine. Ive never understood people wanting to use them in the heat make's no sense to me.
Hi Adam I found it hard to get all the water out of the bubble pipes on my Maldives Hydrojet Pro. Once the Spa is empty though you can run the pump on the "bubble" setting (not the hydrojet setting as this would damage the pump) to expel the water via the small holes in the pipes. It seemed to expel quite a lot of residual water when I tried this. Thanks for another informative video.
I use a hoover to suck the air out my palm springs. goes down in secs, also did you check for condensation build up in the liner. there is always water in there that needs to be drained out.
As per the (very sparse) instruction sheet that came with my Miami Hydrojet spa, I used the pump to deflate the spa. This method was very quick and removed most of the air. I also ran the pump to blow water out of the pipes but that did not seem to clear it all. Thanks for your very useful videos on the spa.
Bell Bird thanks for your comment. Realised afterwards that the hot tub comes with a ‘deflating’ attachment for the pump. Will add a video specifically on this when I set up again.
LOL i thought I was hearing things because it’s ALSO early here in December… but I’m in Plymouth Massachusetts USA. Sounds like your in London or something. I’ve had my hot tub running for two years straight, and last winter my electric bill was a lot so this winter I want to take my hot tub down. Thanks for making this video! 👍
Great Video, you might have covered this before. The mat under the tub, you have the blue one and the silver one. Where did you get the silver one from and whats it called? Thank you
I guess so, but you'd need to be able to attach the nozzle to the tub, and I'm not sure if it would put too much strain on a hoover as it got closer to the end of the job. If you try it, let me know if it works.
Hi Adam and all, My exact same model has the hydrojets not working, motor is running though, just after putting new water in, massage jets and heater are working though, any idea what the problem might be for me here in Spain, no cold weather etc. ? Nothing in the manual or online as far as I see! Thanks in advance.
We've had a Lay z spa Palm Springs for about 7 years now in the UK and it's stayed outside in our garden (open, no gazebo) all year round and has been brilliant. You are right though, we went away on holiday and it turned itself off after a few days as it does then the frost dropped the temp to under 4c so when we got back, it wouldn't restart. We disconnected it (that was a cold job in winter putting hands in icy water to get filter housing off) and took the 'egg' into the kitchen. It warmed up eventually to 8c on the display and then quickly restarted it back on the tub and it worked again... BUT... water poured out the case side so a new pump was needed. That's it, in 7 years and one small puncture, it's been spot on. Can't recommend them highly enough. Thanks for video on this though, really useful to know if we ever do take it inside. 39c is optimum for us in winter. We went in tonight and it was a clear night here in UK, so a great place to sit, relax and star gaze 👍
I’ve left my tub out with a few covers and tarps for protection tied to the deck with bungee cords and I bring the filter in the house. Not much space in my garage to leave it. Hoping i can get away with this method a few more years.
Hi adam trying to put on spa for second year we have the same one as you it is goibg down after pumping up can you tell me how the valve has to be instructions are useless thank you
Debbie Dunsford the valve should be ‘out’ to inflate. If you turn it anti-clockwise then it should pop out. Push in and turn clockwise to deflate. Hope that helps.
I guess it's possible. The instructions advise against running if close to freezing temp and I had no intention of using it over winter. Keeping it heated and clean for 6 months without use didn't seem like a great option to me.
I change mine every month or so - probably 10-15 uses. Others keep theirs much longer. As long as it looks clean and the chemical levels are right it should be fine.
Down the drain is ideal, although I've never experienced any problems with it killing plant life when it's run onto my garden. I do not recommend watering your lawn with the water though. High chance it will discolour or damage the grass.
If you mean just in the hot tub itself, then dry with a cloth or towel. If you mean in the section/tubes for the airjets, then try running the airjets briefly to push the water out. If you mean inside the inflatable part, then that suggests you've got a leak and it might be worth seeing if it's covered under warranty. Hope that helps.
You shouldn't have to, no. My current tub has the heater come on to ensure it doesn't drop below freezing, but have to ask myself if I want to keep it up and consuming electricity if I'm not going to be using it much.
@@SailingAquila I am interested if the plastic material deteriorates after freezing? I have stored mine lay z spa cancun model folded up and covered with plastic bag on an open terrace through all the winter season and it was all good next summer but I have doubts if it’s ok with multiple winter storage sessions?
@@sunlit777 I'm honestly not sure. I stored mine in a garage the first winter and then simply turned upside down and covered the following year. I did get a couple of very small punctures along the crease lines of the folded tub after the second year. I can't know if that was due to age, the cold or the way I'd stored it. Generally, I'd say reducing exposure to extreme temperatures is going to make it last longer.
We have just decided to drain our Paris model, but don’t seem to have a cover for the filter outlet, or anything which looks remotely like it. (I have kept everything together in a bag in its original box.). Not sure what to do about it... Any suggestions?
According to the manual. You're supposed to remove the jets and clean them. Have you done this? If so do they just twist off? I'm a bit scared to do this and can't find any videos to show this.
it's not something i've tackled yet. my hot tub jets and inlets all looked clean. they do twist to control the strength of the jet, so i guess you need to gently keep on turning them to unscrew. good luck and let me know how you get on...
Been watching a few of your videos pretty good and very clear. Just wondered on this video your water level is not level neither is mine does it really matter
speedemon my tub sits on a very slight slope. It’s fine if gentle, but anything too sloped would put additional strain on one side of the tub wall. Also, it’s vital that the filter and water inlet sit below water level.
@@SailingAquila We both have the Hawaii although i have the "blue Alien Egg" design pump unit. I have sent an email to Bestway to find out why it is not included. I have checked their website and they do not list it as a spare part either. The hose pipe trick isn't so great on mine. The level of the outlet is different to yours. Its a bit higher up and still leaves 5 inches of water in the pool.
Why would you want to leave it outside. Just pack the damn thing away for the winter. The pump will for sure crack if frozen and I'm sure you'll get a longer life out of the tub itself. Just saying...
@@Aurora..Borealis People already done it in frigid winters, see "intex purespa winter" on youtube. I have insulation all around it, and yes . you should never leave the pump off during winter, like any hot tub it can freeze.
@@radekw708 OK, I understand you leave it on the whole winter. Here in Norway the electricity cost to much for that so we have to prioritise the home heating. Enjoy!
