I was so skeptical, then amazed, ours is half size of yours, we laid our large stand fan across top of the open freezer , hadn’t defrosted in 3 years, 1/2 hour it was totally defrosted, wiped it up witha bath towel. Now we have so much more space. Thanks a million, we will do this more often now. You rock!
not sure on that for certain but I would assume so, just because there would be less humidity available in the freezer in general, good question tho. But it does help keep open room in the freezer etc for sure. Thanks for watching.
No. The only solution for freezer burn is proper packaging. Ziploc is not sufficient. I do have a couple of economical suggestions. The most obvious is vacuum bags Next are open mouthed plastic bags like you might see whole chickens packaged in. You fill a sink with water, put the food in the bag, dunk the bag under the water to squeeze out the air, then twist and seal the bags. You can tie them, use some fastener etc. Just get the air out of the packaging.
Yeah absolutely. If it’s indoors and can’t hook up a hose or drain as is etc, towels would definitely work. I’ve done that before with a different freezer when it wasn’t in a drainable location.
@@HammerIIHammer Thanks! My freezer is in the kitchen and my old age arthritis in my hands often stops me unscrewing things properly so the round plastic drain covers might not budge for me. Using towels is easier for me. I’ve only had the freezer for ten months and there’s not that much thick frost in it really but I intend to deal with it soon so it doesn’t become a huge task.
