In this video we're talking about dehydrating corn. I will show you all the steps to process your fresh corn harvest and dehydrate it, so you have a wonderful jar of dried corn kernels that will last for months or years on the shelf.

So simple, and it provides years of insurance. Good option for food storage! Thanks for the video, Great Lakes! God bless.

theres absolutely nothing simple about it. its a waste of time, money, energy and electricity. leave the corn on the cob and leave the cobs in a well ventilated area in a shadow and wait until its dry. imagine you have 500 lbs of corn

Since you use fresh corn, if you either leave the stub on the stem end, or just simply fold the shucks back, you have a better way to hold the ear to strip the kernels. I have the Oxo Y shaped stripper and it works great because I can get better leverage pulling both directions at one time instead of having the sideways force needed with the one you have. About 4 to 5 pulls and the ear is stripped. 10 seconds per ear, maybe. I use a full size 18x26 rimmed baking sheet and the kernels are mostly contained because I'm sitting down at a table and pulling the stripper horizontal to the table top instead of vertically where they would splash and scatter. Stripping before blanching you lose a lot of the flavor and starch to the water. See how milky it is? That's flavor. Chill the ears in ice water if you must blanch. Then you are not handling hot ears. I dehydrate raw corn and it works great in chili or soup.

I seen someone use a bunt pan and push the corn down the Center and all the corn falls into pan!

Is this corn plantable after this process?

Why not just break the cob in half and just pop the kernels off?
