How To Delete All Partitions On A Hard Drive Or SSD Using Windows 10

How to delete all partitions on a HDD hard drive or SSD with Windows 10 and diskpart command prompt. This tutorial explains the steps it takes to remove every partition on a hard drive so that it will be a completely clean slate to be formatted and filled with files of your choice, this removes any boot EFI partition, OEM partition or system recovery partition that is usually present on a system drive and let's this one be converted to a dedicated media storage drive.
Remember that you should not remove system partitions on the hard drive your system is installed on as this will prevent you from booting the computer, only do this when you wanna convert an old system drive to a storage drive for files or if another OS is getting installed on it. Select partition 1. Or 2 or 3. It is not “select 1 or 2. Etc”

Same here. I tried Disk Management for hours but the 2 partitions stayed put. Like you said, 5 minutes is all we needed.

Excellent. You got rid of a lot of frustration caused by consolidating files onto another disk, leaving me a 10T HDD empty, but with 9 partitions, and not knowing how to get rid of them.

If you just want to delete all partitions at once, enter diskpart, select your disk and then write the command “clean” Edit: after deleting all of your partitions they will override and then you just want to write the command “create partition primary” while the disk is selected

Thank you for this video! I spent way too much time reading how to get it done. Most said some partitions couldn't be deleted without downloading a program. I tried some poor advice and failed. Your video allowed me to accomplish my goal in little time and now I have an SSD ready for my CD music collection which I want in a lossless format. Kudos GMODISM!

fantastic. simple, straight forward. This video worked perfectly, I decided I would just start with a clean SSD after going back and forth over windows 10 cloning and boot errors no one seems to have any idea what they are talking about or how to do anything they give advice for just to get a lifetime total of 30 cents ad revenue. I'm glad this video was much more helpful than those.

Well done, less then 6 mins and all my problems went away :D Most of noob there tells you how to click mouse, but that's about it. None of them covered how to deal with an issue of disc, which had system previously on and how to delete those system partitions :D
