He actually missed a lot. And you can’t really fuzzy block if you just delay. Also just don’t go into stance off of 1,4 and you are plus one so they can’t press buttons there if you just do it again. No one goes for 1,2 into stance anyway. Just use down forward 2. They block 1,2 and try to jab side step launch. Down back 1, same even though your -1. This video only helps against really bad Lars players.
This has actually been a blessing for me, in tekken 7 I would rematch out of stubborness instead of labbing/learning the match. Guides let you learn a lot faster and you don't destroy your rank. If you need to practice against the character then download ghosts.
suggestion for this anti character lab series: in the video description write down all of the inputs for how to set up the CPU for the enemy character with all their moves, this would help a lot for a lot of people including myself
Yup same. I had a wake up call when a bryan i played against low parried every low i threw at him. Im in low ranks and usually people dont low parry or read that hard. It was pretty sus if you ask me on how good he was at it. But now i know what people are thinking when they try to counter me.
Great guide. I would add a caveat to lower lvl players vs Lars: The first few times they do a fake mixup stance transition you should use your launching df2 or mid ch launcher. It's an easy way to rack up a lot of dmg and they are never blocking there.
Great video bro, I can’t believe I let Lars get away with so much lol. I would never know what to do when he’s constantly going through stances in my face
Fam, I stumbled upon these guides today and it's an instant subscribe for me. Truly very detailed in a short time making tekken labbing a less daunting task. Wishing your channel the very best and hope that you make one like this for every character 😅
Another frame trap is silent entry 3+4 into 1,1,1 / Djab. you need to step hopkick to avoid both options as even though sen 3+4 is 0 on block it forces crouch so step hopkick will avoid any of the common follow ups
Nice! Many people also said that Jack has a lot of fake pressure but I don't understand what that means. Now I get it with Lars! Can you also make one for Jack. Thanks!
Great video! Perhaps in the future you could make a how to counter Zafina video 😅. I know she's apparently low-tier but as a Tekken newcomer, even though I'm not really low rank, I find her confusing af to fight.
Thank you very much for making such great videos it s avery good way for learning character ^^ im a red feng player quite lost against lars especially didnt knew at all that her stance were fake
Hey man- I was going through this for a video I'm going to make (will cite you obv!), problem is Lars can now do F124 which is a safe, homing powercrush (because of cause it is!) which will absorb your DF1 and you'll get knocked down. Only way to negate this is to use a down jab instead of a DF1.
PSA for Kazuya players: You do not have a 13 frame df1, it is 15 frames and likely to get clipped. Use db1 instead, which has surprisingly good reach as a bonus. Be aware that db1 is neutral on hit though, so you have no frame advantage to take your turn with afterwards unless you commit to db1,2 which is a heat engager that knocks your opponent down and back - but is very minus on block so is risky to commit to.
i just hit blue rank as Kazuya and notice people seem to be option selecting on defense during my vortex and i finally heard you mention it called a fuzzy guard. can someone explain that a little more in tekken especially a delayed one.
I've been telling EVERYONE this stuff when they have issues with the Lars match up as a Lars main. It's not terribly difficult to shut down, it just looks like misleading. The one thing I'd add is your suggestion of a i13 mid check is a bit conservative - you can hop kick a Lars out of that shit for a full on combo on most chars with hopkicks.
In the words of the great Mike Tyson "Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face"💯 with that being said as a Lars main thanks for making my game noticed😅 I'll just mind fuck my opponents on what they participate out of my offense😁
Also as a Lars player I’d say his F2,1 or F1,2 they enter dynamic entry but also can be stance cancelled that they’re safe and dynamic entry also has a power crush option. But yea if they expect they can duck it.
Great vids as usual syndox, this is my first tekken, a lot of people tell me Law is very easy to play against but I just get iced all the time could we get an anti Law guide?
I want to see blocking playing against me ahahah -- speaking (in theory) is easy and simple but while playing we Lars main know how to mix u up like a blender machine :D -- 50/50 all day -- good luck :D
Amazing video thanks a ton! Is sidewalking left a valid option for countering the stances aswell? I mean I guess it can be risky if they do the homing one but was just wondering.Ty :)
How to destroy lars as bryan Orbital Low parry BD1+2 Ive destroyed a good amount of lars by using orbital when I see him go low. If you want to be safe, just buffer in a low parry and go from there
During your golden rule1: There’s one string here on his while standing 3,4 that you mention is fake. From Len he can do either ws kick without delay. Meaning He gets ws4 as he is plus 1. you can trade with a jab, which leaves you at plus 2 on clash ( jab is +8, Lars ws4 is +6, 8-6= 2) but technically he still gets to press so no mid checks. Also he CAN block or even back dash out of limited entry! You didn’t mention that his ws3 into limited is plus4 into stance, meaning his two stance options aren’t guaranteed totally as both Len 1&2 are 16f. That’s important as his len2 is safe on block… which leads to that move coming out a lot. meaning you get to try for a float with a read, and that’s TRY. Lars Len 1 will high crush the jab, but I think it’s something fun that you can remember to increase lar’s mental stack and do some damage. Under golden rule 2 I think it’s worth mentioning that you CAN side walk left, he can use sen 1+2 to catch as it goes in either direction. He can also sen 4 which is a homing high, so you can treat the situation a lot like azucena wr 3-2. If you get hit by den 3 power crush, or heat burst to beat every option EXCEPT for sen 2. It’s good to use to help control against his mix. Also sen 3+4… it’s a really strong pressure tool at 13f. It’s a low crush and has two jumping axe kicks. You can parry his sen1, but you won’t be able to parry this move as easily as there are two hits. as it only clashes to jabs from his den3 frame trap for a float, he can throw it out in his mid low mix as a “safe”check to try to keep his turn. If it hits he gets to be plus +8 if he mashed into den, so he gets to try for den2 which is a counter hit launcher, watch out for this cheese. On block It’s +0f but it’ll leave you crouching, so if you mash you risking standing into his 111 string making a pseudo frame trap. 111 is a 10f jab string which is high, mid, mid so you won’t get a ws move if he uses this which he probably will. You can check with a crouch jab if he tries it to be +6. I hit this all the damn time…. And I mean all the time, people mash here a LOT. You can block the 111, but it counter-hit confirms from the first hit; 11 is zero by itself, so careful for his mash after. Thanks for the videos you make, I posted this not to undermine the video but to help add some more scenarios Lars will implement as people get higher in ranks.
your vids are mad helpful but lars is such a tricky character, will have to rewatch this vid more and train myself on lars players more. they are too crazy
Legitimate question: Is it still considered a "full combo" if the initial launcher is a screw? In my mind, a full combo is a launch+screw+ender that does 70ish-90ish damage.
In the example of the video, lars has a 50/50 after his DEN 3. The mid attack come out at 12 frames, and the low attack come out at 17 frames. As you might notice, the low comes out a bit later than the mid. So a fuzzy block in simple terms is option select defense, where you block the faster option first ( block mid since its 12 frames ), then you block the slower option ( block low since it is 17 frames ). With this, you can block both options.
@@ToshinRaizen7 you can block with either B or DB. I think blocking with DB is better since you build the habit of going backwards into DB, which will help your defense.
God I hate lars man I seriously can't stand him at all. . .look I played for awhile now new to this but when I finally learned the match up back in T6 to TT2 I didn't fear lars too much he was a pain but now cool all that old stuff I knew is collectively out the damn window. . .ugh. What a chore of a damn character.
