Remember if you’ve descaled four or five times and the on off switch keeps tripping before it’s boiled. The element is faulty. Eventually it will fail and a new element. If it’s in warranty then it will be fixed free of charge. If it’s out of warranty then buy a cheap kettle and cry over the fact that you spent £120 on a useless British made kettle.
This Dualit Classic Kettle is rubbish. Ours lasted less than 2 years. There's a commom problem with the switch. You'll need to send it in to Dualit and will cost £54 to fix. Plenty of poor google reviews. AVOID.
ours is also going after 8 years. The lid ring snapped off about 4 years ago and I contacted duelit to see if I could get a replacement at my cost. They wouldn't accept that and sent a whole new lid to me free of charge by expedited delivery. It is an excellent kettle. So much so we have a brand new one we bought last year in a sale so that if this ever does die we have a spare. Buy a cheap kettle if you want but ours was £112, 8 years ago. £14.00 a year and it isnt dead yet. Nor rusty. Only here because even though we don't have a limescale heavy water even after 8 years it's finally got some lol.
