How to Design and Build a TDA2050 Stereo Amplifier
The PCB and schematic project files: easyeda.com/Ci...
In this video, I'm going to show you how I designed and built my stereo TDA2050 amplifier. The schematic I used is similar to the one in the datasheet, but I've added a few components to help reduce noise and improve the sound quality. At the beginning of the video, I'll show you the schematic and explain what each of the components do. I'll show you how to change the gain, and how to set the upper and lower bandwidth of the amp too. Then I'll show you the PCB layout I designed and talk about things to keep in mind when laying out an amplifier PCB. At the end of the video, I'll wire up the amp and play some music...
You can order the PCB or download the Gerber file using the link below:

Very nice video. And well explained, specially the ground wiring. What it lacks is a kind of more, you know, professional testing with for example a signal generator and an oszillograph. But ok, it is not high end, so...

The tips are the best part. You have a very vast practical knowledge. I liked the way you pointed out what to do and not to do also what to expect while working on this. I wish you made a guitar amp... Hope to see a guitar amp...

Hi , Nice Tuto and explanation about the IC Amp , are you going to make a video about AB- Transistors Amps ? i have this Audio Amp which on its output i measured a 36V dc voltage, keeps blown the speakers, i v tested all transistor but nothing seems to be wrong !!!! so why im getting the vcc voltage on the output ? can explain ?

Very nice design there!... Much better than the pre-fab one that I have for this chip, because mine has hum and noise problems, unfortunately!... I especially like your power supply with the greatly oversized toroidal transformer! That must keep things nice and clean with great dynamics!... A few questions though; How much total capacitance per rail are you using, what are your rail voltages set at, and what are all of the Mundorf EVO audio capacitors used for on the power supply board??!... Isn't that a little bit overkill for such an amp?... I would love to see a schematic of your power supply for this kit, with a detailed explanation of what each component does and its importance! Also a detailed explanation of the how and why of your power supply ground separation and associated circuit board layout would be very useful!

@@ValeryDjondo IKR?!... Unfortunately, the way the "RU-vid algorithm" works, your comment always gets pushed down to the very bottom of importance and views if you aren't one of the very first few commenters on said video, AND your comment gets lots of "likes" immediately, before other people post their own comments on top of yours, (i.e. newer posts), so unless those two things are in order for your specific comment, (it being one of the first few AND it receiving lots of likes), then usually no-one even sees your comment TO reply to it!... It really sucks, but that's the truth... That, plus the fact that if your comment is ANY longer than just one very short, few word sentence, and definitely nothing more in-depth than that, then the majority of this modern "TLDR" generation with "ADD" OR "ADHD" cannot or will not even take the time to read your comment at all, even if it may very well have important and/or useful information or questions in it! (It's a very sad state of this modern world!)

Hi, Is there anyway you could take a look at the PAM8304 chip and do your magic with it by building another great amplifier out of it. There are a bunch of tiny amplifiers built with the PAM8304 chip on eBay for $2.00 or so but I'd love to see one you might design with all the bells and whistles. I really enjoy all your designs! B.

If i wanted to add a NE5532 preamp to this, i just connect the output of the preamp to the input of this amplifier? And the output of the signal to the input of NE5532 preamp, and the signal ground i can leave it there at the tda2050?

Many steps and explanations promised to be covered "later in the video" but that never actually happened. I.e. how/why the speaker wires connect one on the power supply and one on the actual amplifier pcb. In the end, after almost 20 grueling minutes of confusion, all seemed to be in vain even though the video appears to be well produced; but in reality it is not suitable for anyone who is starting with this, it simply has a lot of gaps. On the other hand if you have a lot of experience this build will make sense but again this video is not intended for those well versed in electronics projects they can do it alone, with no help. Sorry, I voted down since this will not help me build my own and watching this video resulted in disappointment. Perhaps the title should have "how to ...*for experienced builders*" edit: the link about ordering the PCB does not follow what you show in the video. how do we know which fields to change/customize some of us are likely to not be able to make those decisions unaided. I'd rather land on a fixed order page that is as much as possible identical to the one you build in the video. why unnecessarily complicate things? And of course there is no mention at all about the power supply which IMO sounds like the most critical component. At least the tutorial makes more sense and although it is also too heavy on the theory it provides a safer path to follow, provided of course one is willing to study for hours in order to understand what is going on. I am sorry if I sound negative but it appears some of the audience the YT video attracts is more suited to the longer/slower tutorial.

By now should have learnt what you need to know, I think you were a bit harsh, this guy has to assume you have the basics otherwise he would have to start with...here is a battery and here is a bulb every time, you should watch the video and ask yourself 'am at this level ?' if not then move on, there is plenty of true beginner stuff and it's a very rewarding hobby...good luck.

@@andymouse you do realize that post was 3 years ago. Anyway, he's right about some things (e.g. failed to explain why the audio input ground is connected to the mains ground). This was done in vain and not really a "How To".
@dicko195
@dicko195 2 года назад
The grounding info is in the Tutorial link, just like he says. There is a Main Grounds Terminal, which is connected to a Ground Loop Protection Circuit. The volume is controlled by his iPod, like he says. To add more controls just Google your question, there are several videos on how to add volume, bass and treble.
