Hey! If you liked the ideas in this video and you want to put some of them into practice, you're going to looove my updated goal-setting workbook: The Life Map. Buy it here: muchelleb.com.au/the-life-map-25
I remember people say that my goal of eatting a fruit or veg a day was way too simple, but setting this reminded a newly independent me to buy veg and remember to eat them. Whether it was a glass of bitty juice or a full ratatouille it reminded me to do thing that helped my body.
You got this!!! Jesus loves you & is cheering you on! You are so worth it! Don’t give up! You are wanted & needed & have a purpose in life! ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
I love that idea. Small and simple makes huge changes. I have been building out my 1988 chevy van to move into and I am building it one nail and board at a time. Small steps will get the big results we crave.
I almost always watch your whole videos to the end - but I love that your chapters are so organised. It makes re-watching so much easier when you return to revise something. 😍
In all the "personal growth" stuff I've read/listened to, I've never heard the perspective of - choose your "why" FIRST! Determine how you want to feel FIRST! and THEN align your goals with that. That is fascinating. Thank you so much!!!
I think for me, the real difference this year has been indulging in my goals. I kind of naturally go to deprive myself of nice things because I like a challenge, but it just leads to goals being harder. So as motivation to get running, I bought a couch to 5k app, and a nice colourful tracksuit set (because all of mine are black hand me downs from my younger yet taller brother) that makes me excited to run. It might sound silly, but I’m more motivated to move my body when I feel like it belongs to me, and somehow a (slightly ridiculous) rainbow tracksuit set let’s me feel that way.
so helpful! you are an operational genius, muchelle. i think you should write a book. i know you have it in you. you are a gifted teacher & you have an eager audience
YES, remembering why you want to achieve a goal is key. It’s what will continue to push you when you feel lazy or feel like giving up. I find that it is important to find what works for YOU. Wether it’s achieving your goals day by day, weekly, or taking small micro steps to get your tasks done. From a self love content creator to another; great informative and transparent video Muchelle! 💗
It's so true. Those micro steps are the steps that add up to make the big changes. A quote I have loved since hghschool: "The heights by great men reached and kept, were not attained by sudden flight, but they while their companions slept, were toiling upward in the night."
I have used your goal setting guide for 2021 and I must say that it is super clarifying and I have accomplished a lot. I will be using it again for 2022. I have already scheduled in the day when I am going to do that - Sunday 26th, but I might do it earlier, as I love planning! To create a clean slate before the New Year I have chose to do some deep cleaning around the house, to update my phone contacts list (remove contacts I no longer need), to free up space on the phone (transfer pictures from 2 and more years ago, keep the recent ones), and do an end of year review.
I never watch half and hour long videos, and it took me 3 days to finish this one but it was COMPLETELY worth it. You're inspiring, you're so clear with explanations and your tips are practical and useful. I will try your system. I'm in need of a deep goal setting session now.
This is sooo useful! I am a serial non-planner and I am hoping by overhauling my life and making a consistent effort to be more organised and actually set goals I won't feel so overwhelmed by everything I want to do! Thank you for making this video
I am implementing this using 66 day challenge by One Thing. I am trying this by myself first and this year instead of just goals itself, my main goal is to learn the process which helps to be self compassionate. For example, for my last 66 day challenge, while I did do it, it did not make any impact. I just started a second one. If this was few years ago me, I would have quit. I also am finally understanding how your main goal and mini goals work and the stop and start list. Even though I binged your videos until I tried and failed I didn't fully understand it till now. I gained more clarity unlike before I thought omg I can't do all these but by combining One Thing with this LifeMap method, I have gained so much clarity. I am excited. (FYI, there are days when I am demotivated and it turns out it's because the newness has faded and my brain is seeking shiny new things which helps to bounce back if I actually remind myself of this "shiny new thing" phrase; and also because I don't count my wins enough. I watched your video on productive habits and it is so helpful and useful to remember to count wins like I caught myself in discrediting myself and falling into old pattern of negative thinking but I bounced back quickly, etc lol too specific and random.) I can't wait to buy the lifemap planner (Would someone be able to tell me if the Lifemap weekly planner includes quarterly planning as well?) And I am also planning to join One thing community : D
I like that you focus on self compassion in your goal setting. Too often setting goals ends up with us feeling shame if we're being ruthless with ourselves, setting too many goals, and not making sure our goals are aligned with our whys. This was really illuminating, thank you!
I love what you said so much. It's so true and so often we set goals because we don't like where we are now and we think goals will give us more reason to love ourselves. When really we need to strive to be our best but it will not raise the infinite value we already have as human beings and Gods creations. Cheers love and blessings to you!
What a realy great video. I watch lots of these types of things and it's refreshing to see how someone puts things into practice and decides on their own goals and systems instead of just reeling off a suggested list of goals and habits for us to try. Thanks
This could be the best video you ever made! I am so thankful for this. I have been brainstorming and now I have three impactful goals, goals that I did not think of at first. It feels absolutely game-changing! Thank you 🙏😊✨
WOW! Thank you for this video!! I just worked through setting my goals alongside your video and I ended up choosing goals that I had no idea I needed! I thought I wanted to focus on a business goal for my most important goal. However, I ended up choosing a goal that helps me live slower. I've been struggling with burnout for a long time, and for the next 90 days, I want to focus on creating a healthy life and work routine that helps me avoid feeling exhausted all of the time. My two mini-goals are supportive of my most important goal, and I believe they will help me accomplish it. Thanks again!!
This is so beautiful, I love what you said. I have been struggling with feeling burned out as well and its important to remember the rest is as important as the work.
@@margiesvanmori Thank you! Yes, we aren't taught the importance of rest and it can be hard to adjust. I've been working on this for almost a year and have a much better understanding of work/rest/healthy living but I still have a long ways to go. I don't feel so burned out now, which I consider a big win!
Seriously, I don't know where I would be without your content. Extremely life-changing. I feel like you know how my brain works, and made a perfect step by step process, specifically for me... Idk. So wild. You give us so much VALUABLE content. Forever grateful! :)
This is excellent! The best part was that you have the experience to know where people go wrong and advise how to get back on track... I will be trying this :)
This is one of the best goal setting videos I have EVER seen!!🔥 Thank you ❤️ the chapters will be amazing when I go back through to actually sit down and brainstorm
Thank you so much. I did the Start/Stop, the Antivision and Vision activities and they really helped. Thank you thank you thank you. Love and light to you 💛
very useful video muchelle! it's late at night here so i cannot wait to rewatch this tommorow while having my morning cup of coffee and follow along the prompts in my journal ❤️
I've literally been binge watching your videos for the last week. I've had so many ideas in my mind and have failed to take action on any of them, you have helped me so so much and for the first time I have a plan and steps in place to help move forward with my ideas. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and insight, I seriously love your content💖
This was amazing! I've been doing all these exercises in my journal while watching and it has really made me reconsider how I am approaching my goals - thank you so much!
Your videos give me the motivation to keep going in college. I wanna quit everyday and go with making content. Thank you for your consistency and inspiration 🤍🌟
You got this woman! "THE HEIGHTS BY GREAT MEN REACHED AND KEPT, WERE NOT ATTAINED BY SUDDEN FLIGHT, BUT THEY WHILE THEIR COMPANIONS SLEPT, WERE TOILING UPWARD IN THE NIGHT."
I love your longer videos, really any and all of your videos, but especially your long videos - always love your content and could listen to you talk about productivity all day. ❤️
God dam girl, definitely had to stop cleaning and get a pen and paper for this video. Such great info. You don't post often but when you do it's a hit.
I’m a new subscriber and recently came across this video. THANK YOU for this. I recently changed jobs from something I’ve been doing for 18+ years to now being able to work from home - this is a good thing without giving specifics - my job is 7:30 am - 6:00 pm, customer service, face-to-face, and ALL my energy is given to my job. I would come home, eat a little, and stay in bed the rest of the night. Mentally exhausted. This new job, that I start Nov 7, is two weeks at the office, then 1-2 times / week to come in; it is customer service but over the phone, M-F, 8:30-4:30 (my husband works M-F, 7:30 - 3:30). I’ve been thinking positively about - I can go for walks, I can eat a healthy breakfast and not be rushed in the morning, etc… and my mind is a cluster BUT THIS will have me more organized, changing my goals every 13 weeks, I have not felt more excited in a long time. So thank you, I’m getting my life back 🥹❤️😘🇨🇦
this video is SO GOOD. I forgot about your life map planner, so I went and looked at it and was like “holy crap I love this,” so I bought one. it’s 3am right now, but I’m so hyped to do some life-clarifying activities and goal setting in the morning 🥰
Thanks Michelle, the video was really helpful. Putting all your major ideas in one place makes the whole goal setting process easier to comprehend. It is also a good guide for the life map. Thanks a lott. Sending love❤️❤️
I loved this! So thorough and interesting. As usual great content, keep it coming :) My number one big goal for the next quarter: become a freelance artist and streamer!!
lol, I feel called out, cuz I keep fiddling with my Notion setup 😅 btw, this was a really clear video. I used to feel really rushed to do these goal setting activities, so I didn't really dive deep. How long does it take you to set your goals?
@@bhavya5735 the auto-generated are there, but it doesn't have accurate punctuation which makes folks with assistive technology unable to access the content.
I usually only give likes to videos when I've completed watching, but this time I gave my like less then 2 minutes in and then reached out for the button to like it again at least 2 more times, this feels so right!
Love your videos and have been following for a few years now but never commented! Thought I’d come on here to say Dr Mike just mentioned he watched your SkillShare! Very cool. ❤️
michelle: what if i don't have a goal? i want live healthfully & joyfully. i want to be peaceful i do ALL the things: journal, hydrate, lots of exercise/movement, meditate. i eat well, im at a healthy weight. i have friends/social network. i've read all the books... i honestly don't know what else to add/try. (i'm on an ssri--and that helped a lot)
