How to destroy tanks with low penetrating shells? ▶️ M19 

The unusual reload is given to the fact that the cannons are easy to reload, having two loaders operating the gun, and the fact that ammunition is stored in boxes and not in a rack, (like a normal tank) so the loader was able to pick up the ammo boxes from the turret side and put them in their feet, behind the gunner seats, this way by the time the gun had fired half of the 8-round clip, the loader already has another clip in his hands and is ready to put it in the gun as soon as there is less then 4 rounds in the cannon making the bofors 40mm able to fire continuously until the gun is overheaten, damaged or the commander dictated "cease fire". My father worked as a AA loader in a fletcher class destroyer btw.

M19’is a very underrated tank. The He shells are amazing at dealing with planes and the AP shells can pen most tanks from the side. 7/10 would recommend. (I have somehow killed an IS-3 with it by shooting into the gun mantlet and letting the HE shell bounce into the tank.)

M19 has "Low penetration" me: *laughs in 341* On a more serious note though, another tactic that i use is firing the HEF shells at low armoured trucks or open topped tanks. Since it is common for US tanks to have open tops, you can fire the shell at the machine gun located above, it will detonate and wipe out the whole turret. This would also have worked against the 14.5mm Russian truck that you had slight difficulties with in the video, since his open top was facing you, you could fire a HEF in there and decimate the insides of his truck. Today I held point B long enough to bring my team back from near loss. I was in my R3 SPAA and just sat in a corner, keeping the enemy from capping until a very smart KV-85 wised up and killed me. That still lasted nearly 8 minutes, though, so it goes to show that players often don't consider unusually shaped things that don't make noise to be threats.

I think this vehicle os also good for suprise ambushes that's if the m19 gets the first shot and their backs are turned, it will be in a power position as it can't just shoot one, but an ungodly amount in a short time span

At least you can still penetrate 71mm, the shells on German 37mm ones don't even have nearly the same. And yet people will say "AA shouldn't be able to kill tanks" because they get killed in their M18s and M56s.

T34 is very easy to confuse with KV85 which has motherload of turret armor.

I think my M19 had more ground kills than air... The M42 seems to be even harder to hit a plane with despite being effectually the same platform.

I use my SPAAs to salvage bad matches. If I die early or the team is getting wiped out I sit in or near the spawn and shoot down planes. AB is largely a one sided curb stomp one way or the other. It's rarely a close match. So it helps if you're on the losing side to recoup your silver losses by shooting down aircraft. Taking any SPAA into a ground fight against real tanks is largely suicide.

The only thing worse than an M19 is an M42 LOL. Seriously though, the fact that they are so bad and you have to wait until 8.0 to get the next US AA vehicle and how bad the Dusters are really magnifies the already huge gap in the lineup. Using it for AA is something I have not been able to figure out. I have had them both for years and still cannot figure out the amount of lead needed to take out planes (RB without lead indicator) Even with practice, planes seem to just teleport through my shells.

Dont engage tanks head on unless it's a panzer IV then by all means take those head on :)
