AP malphite is fun, but if You really want to counter zed, go fighter malphite. Grasp, shield bash, conditioning, overgrowth, cheap shot, ultimate hunter. Double armor runes, start W and max it. If You really want to add insult to injury, cloth refillable start. Go into lane with 80 armor, laugh at his damage. Your W + grasp still hits like a truck. I like to get a seeker's armguard (upgrade if necessary, but usually isn't, and seeker's is very cost-effective) into IBG, rest situational, but mostly tanky. W+Grasp+IBG still deals enough damage to crap on squishies, and You don't die to a stray sneeze anymore. If zed ever fights You, just slap him around with aa-W-E, and keep slappin' until You proc grasp twice. If he stops fighting You 'cause he's already 0-2, shove and go dive botlane. With W max and armor items, You laugh at tower damage pretty quickly.

I like the new items and prefer the games with your friends in that one. Also I like all the new builds you can do, I agree that even if you just change the mythic, it makes it like a different build, change your runes too and bam, tons of ways to play toons!

wonder why zed doesn’t play further back against a long range tank mid while he’s below lvl 3

i tried'it too, beat zed in lane a couple of times. Then he started roaming with his nocturne jungle and eventually i lost xD.

I spam malphite now but its a tank malphite and i got the ultimate hunter for secondary rune cause his ulti is too much time to cd...

To bad you didn't do the cosmic drive build before they made items unique passive on pbe.

This zed doesn't know how to play behind.. 2 options for this game , either perma roam during level 6 if your behind in lane or stay , rushing Mr items.. Building mercury boots first then maw, actually a zed main has good reflexes with ult, w, and flash easy avoiding malphs ss, also can counter with stopwatch
