This is a PERFECT video for me. I’m a beginner and always take too long trying to detail but never knew how to go about it. This helped me put things in perspective and keep in my guidelines. Not go all around the fade, stick to that section. I always trip if I don’t hear anything and then I go to high. Stick to the script. Perfect video for people like me. Thank you Sean. Your the man. Love the new videos and editor.

@Seancutshair
@Seancutshair Год назад
I don’t know what you mean exactly. I use the same fading system no matter the hair just the style and shape change
@taraduddy7687
@taraduddy7687 Год назад
If I understand your meaning, I think what is going to be the most helpful to you is making sure you do a thorough consultation with your client before you start the cut. It's not always a good thing to just look at what was previously done and try to mimic it because it could have been a mediocre fade previously. Make sure in your consultation that you ask what they liked and didn't like about their previous haircut. Asking discovery questions will guide you on how best to perform the service. Hope that helped!
@taraduddy7687
@taraduddy7687 Год назад
@cheungman83 if they don't know. I always ask do you want 1, 2 or 3 fingers high and hold your index finger above their ear to indicate a low fade, add your middle finger on top for a medium fade and your ring finger for a high fade. So the width of your three fingers is going to be a high fade.High fades are typically done when the clients hair grows straight out on the sides at the parietal ridge. Unless it's a bald military fade. Also if your boss is not willing to train you to a certain extent with your consultations, I would maybe consider finding another shop that will help you grow your skills. I've always worked in fast pace shops as well but you will get better and learn how to read between the lines of what the client is having trouble explaining.
@cheungman83
@cheungman83 Год назад
@@taraduddy7687 much appreciate for your help, i will give that a try, my boss tries to help me as much as she can but she always cutting non-stop all day but she the only person who accepted me as i'm a beginner barber where no one else willing to take me on, she very strict to me but says thats the best way for me to learn, she always find faults when checking over my haircuts so sometimes im afraid to ask her questions about cutting tips.

If you ever have time, I think a good video to teach people something would be to show different ways to set your initial guideline or bald line. Like how to pay attention to where the ears are, where the eyebrows are etc. But I'm also interested in seeing how to start my guideline starting from the back and then going around..
@MOONFACEFLOW
@MOONFACEFLOW Год назад
I have been putting in my guidelines looking at the bottom corner of the clients eyebrows and then following around but somehow once I get around the back neither line is matching up so I then have to adjust.. I at least personally could use some advice for setting in a nice even guideline..thx man!
