I'm done detangling almost everyday since I don't wash my hair as often as I used to and keep my hair in twists and low manipulation styles. Mechanical damage is real y'all stop it early 👍🏾
My hair goes about mid way to my nose but it ain’t long enough to just grab with my whole hand and easily section and comb through😭. Until I’m at that length it sucks lowkey to detangle

I HAVE A QUESTION!!✋🏽 I take a shower like every other day if I’m not dirty or anything (tmi lol) but should I GENTLY detangle my mixed boy curly hair in the shower every time then? Cause I like having nice detangled hair when I get out of the shower and I get like ocd if I don’t.

I used not detangle at all then I finally started I lost a lot of knots and shedded hairs. Then I kept that routine going once a week and I wouldn’t lose as much hair.

You'll have less broken strands and split ends if you finger detangle. Picking hair is like yanking a knot apart where finger detangling ia gently untying a knot.
This is actually a good question because I’ve seen videos on how to bring out natural curly hair and many of them say to use a wide tooth comb for thicker/more hair.
I have one more question...as a guy I’m growing my hair it’s short it has some hair on it my question is can truly tell what’s your hair type when it’s short? Should I wait till it’s longer to see my hair type? Because the curls aren’t fully long enough yet😭
Hey @DoeDoeBird btw your hair type does not really matter that much most of the chats that people see on hair type are bogus😂, but was does matter is you hair porosity, thickness, and the width even now and when it gets a bit longer, so for now If I were you I would focus on growing out your hair. So take it easy with hair cuts just get shape ups and tapers if you want, I would recommend Jamaican black castor oil for hair growth apply to your scalp, I repeat your scalp not your hair two to three times a week. Ware a bonnet or durag at night when you got to sleep. And lasty here is a quote that I learned from a RU-vidr called kingbril, "Dry hair dose not grow it breakes". So keep your hair moisturized. Its not super deep man and good luck on your hair journey 💪🏾. Oh and keep watching kobe vids they will get your hair growing and curly in no time

And yeah it’s funny u said those steps because I have Jamaican black castor oil and I use a spray bottle with warm water to shoot my hair throughout the day if I don’t my hair gets superrrrrr dry it’s mad annoying. I deep condition as well so that helps and that’s the exact haircuts I get lol tapers. No hair off the top ofc. Tho last time he did trim the top sides of my hair slightly.
