For this tutorial you will need a soft diffused light source with any translucent cloth. A tweezer and a loop to see close up if needed.
Once you place the stone on the cloth you can start to make calls - if the sapphire is treated with diffusion treatment you will likely see a concentration of color on the edges of the stone’s facets like this stone here. However in this second sapphire without diffusion you will not be able to see any concentration of color on most facets.
