I have been a homemaker for 17 years and a schedule is so important. I have 4 kids and a large house so having a schedule is very important. I have had the same schedule for 13 years that I always fall back on. One thing that is non-negotiable for me is I clean my fridge every Wednesday because I shop on Thursday. Good advice for young homemakers. A clean, peaceful home is a gift to your family. I love a big Fall and Spring cleaning! When the kids all go back to school I spend the whole month of September literally going through every single item in my house. It lightens it for the holidays. Although this year my kids won't be going back to school because of COVID. Sigh. Thanks
Could you please consider increasing your voice recording level? I found this quite hard to hear, especially over the music at the beginning. Thanks xxx
I have a day for just doing paperwork. Stuff like... paying bills, writing letters , writing in my gardening diary and making a meals menu. Any paperwork I need to do including research for projects coming up. It really helps me stay on top of it all.
this is the most significant video on homemaking I've ever seen. I originally watched this a couple months ago, and implemented this logic, and it genuinely changed my life. housekeeping is much less overwhelming now. thank you!
This is my absolute favorite video when it comes to homemaking. I love watching it all over again. Thank you so much. Could you maybe do a video about pantry/grocery organization? This would be awesome. Hugs from Switzerland.🥰
Thank you, embracing homemaking, planting out an Autumn food garden and feeling a little lost with Covid19. There are things to do around home but i have always put them off until desperation required action. I live your every day list and that has been missing from my life, seeing it in writing is the key. Thanks for the motivation to get things done more efficiently.
This was helpful, though I will argue some of us do need a list of daily chores.... I'm a complete airhead and left to my devices will just space out wondering where the day went.
I just discovered your channel and I am a new subscriber. Please keep doing what you do. You are so appreciated. I have always cared deeply about and struggled with keeping up household management. I have often found myself completely overwhelmed trying to do everything or too many things at once. Writing lists of daily tasks . Now I understand it just wont do to list everything you do daily. But categorize everything under broader headings. I really love your strategy. I am very thankful for your explanation of the way to go about breaking these tasks down so that they are manageable and a lot less overwhelming. I thank you for creating your channel. You don't know how much your advice is appreciated.
Wonderful video!!! Great advice 👍 Thank you so much! 1 thing to clean in the kitchen and 1 thing to clean in the in the bathroom... for me it changed and distressed my zone/spring cleaning completely:-) Thank you again for sharing. Please share more practical wisdom about homemaking 🙏
hi justyna! i have a ton of info about more like. on my blog with free printables. you can check them out here: heartscontentfarmhouse.com/category/homemaking/ (i will work on doing some more videos on this too!)
This is a great plan. The only thing that doesn't work for me is doing a deep cleaning item every day. I do save it up for one day bc I feel like if I am doing it every day it is my main job-ruling my life-consuming all of my days. I like to do it, and done. Loved your video!
Zone cleaning has helped me in this area because if you’re good with timers then it’s just 15 minutes a day on that focused task. So if you don’t want to follow the flylady zone systems you can create your own. Sometimes I can be rebellious to my own schedules 🤣 but it catches up with me so I zone cleaning has helped me with my self discipline more.
This was so very helpful! I have a routine I follow but there's some deep cleaning and hot spots that have gotten out of control. So what I'm doing is setting aside the afternoon of every day to tackle them.
👍🏻 I have a routine but I like how you have Tuesday as Baking day, specifically because you say not just for baking but meal prep- I’m going to try to incorporate this. Monday is my Laundry day also and same concept I do all bedding and maybe towels then one load a day none on weekends.
