I’m so thankful you’re doing these exercises. A spinal cord lesion has caused me dexterity problems and these techniques really help.

Thanks for the great dexterity exercises, It's going to be very helpful as I'm moving into some more uncommon chords to include into my music. Like The F Melodic Minor, I'm still learning to play the inversions on all of these chords as well to offer myself some variety and options, however the dexterity exercises will really help make it much easier. Thanks so much , your video was excellent. Have a great week,

Great exercise. Exactly what is needed - not too technical, but with a boundary (the metronome + correct fingering) that tells you easily when you're doing it wrong. Also, beautiful lady!

Great video! I am self teaching the best I can, but I am lacking in these important dexterity and technical abilities. I will definitely practice with these exercises. Thank you for such an informative demonstration of what needs to be learned in order to play well.

I loved this lesson. I am actually a trumpet player - and have attended uni - however throughout the years of course I've picked up Piano. I have a ever growing love for the keys and today found myself asking the question "dexterity on the piano, is it a thing?" Often i find my ability to play on the keys feels infinite. However, I loved the breakdowns in this video. Really gave a clinical definition for "piano dexterity" what it is and isn't, and why we need it. The triplet scale exercise that you show - can that and should that be done in all 12 keys major and minor? hen I see that exercise I see a path to freedom, however many bad habit can develop in self teaching, like using an exercise in all 12 major and minor keys that was never meant to work that way! Thanks for your help, you're awesome!

I found a great exercise to increase strength on the 3 4 5 fingers. Put LH 1 and 2 on B and C and hold them down. RH 1 and 2 go on D and E. Then play the notes F G A with the other fingers. The first time I did this I felt it in the forearms and didn't last long. Now I have a routine at 140 bpm and can last over a minute. I developed strong fingers from my work as a Chiropractor. But what really set me apart was when I suffered a shoulder injury and now live with a FURS syndrome. I had to completely change my treatment techniques for the last 20 years of my career. But I developed a shoulder technique and the subscapularis muscle. My span is only an octave, and some patients have ninths or tenths for their shoulder blade. Hence strong fingers.

Try practicing on a desk at work or at home. Anywhere you can put your fingers down and try lifting them separately. The more you do it, the better you'll get. You'll get there, don't worry :)

Hey thanks for sharing this one. But can I suggest something. Please 🙏 create a video about this excercises where the camera is near to hand of the instructor. And last thing, please, for the instructor, kindly try to make it more slower. I like these practice but in the middle of the video. I felt hard to get on which finger to tap on. I'm your fan here.

when i was 15-17 I didn't do any stretching exercises. I vented all my hatred of the piano not being able to make the piano rock by doing the Hannon dexterity exercises 4 octaves so fast I couldn't see my own fingers play. Those and all the scales and appergios, or however its spelled. I busted strings and dazzled people with my speed and strength

I think he's saying the hand stretching is a massive waste of time for most people without a medical condition. Unless you are in a vegetative state your hands are more than adequatly stretched at any point of the day. Or maybe I'm simply using his comment to vent my frustration.
