The best meter you can use is a voltmeter, Probe's can be dangerous to electronic systems especially the live probe you stick that on a 3-volt wire and bang goes your unit I see it all the time when they finally bring them to me to fix. Volt/amp and resistance meter's and induction amp clamps are the best way to diagnose a wiring problem, plus check the fuse first then always start at the source ie the battery by doing a volt drop check you would have found that fault in seconds so get yourself a volt metre avo,s are the best if you can afford one there are other's on the market. You have done a great job building that bobber looks super cool well done and all the other builds ie the 750 Scrambler looks awesome just a note a 21-inch front wheel would really look super cool on it and would ride even better. all the best john from rugby Warwickshire UK ps. not far from the triumph factory
I've been putting off rebuilding my Triumph Chopper and now I'm getting inspiration from you. I need to tear it down and locate a weld on hard tail instead of the bolt on one that is on it right now.
If your connections are melting also test your rectifier and stator. Ampage draw over voltage etc etc affects current flow burns wires out. Also Chk earth straps to tight.
Good to see you having fun with the Triumph, great bikes to ride. For more torque and power advance the inlet valve timing one tooth (8 deg) , the inlet cam is quite hot. Pulls much better from 3k revs and up.
Hi; you are a bit confused. One tooth is too much; about 14.4º and one key way is about 4.8. You need to check lobe centers to actually do a move with the camshafts if not you could hit pistons etc
The 28 years I've owned my T140 have taught me that vibration will break anything, given enough time. All you can do is try to slow down the process by routing cables where they put less stress on terminals and learn where the likely failure points are for future incidents. Still love it, though
Maybe you should make a video on making a little “oh crap” storage area...main fuse..little bit of wire..couple of wire nuts...small tools...screwdriver etc... for my extended long term cb750 build I plan on making a small compartment for something like this.
You came across that Power Probe as a BMW mechanic? I can't find anyone in the US who has ever heard of it, but it sounds like an awesome must-have tool!
From the looks of it you're ring terminal sticks out from the battery box therefore when the battery box vibrates it bends your terminal until it snaps in half. To fix this problem all you would need is a longer cable that would go completely Inside the battery box and then reconnect it onto the battery so it does not Flex the terminal themselves and just the cable then well vibrate. However due to extensive vibrations it may occur once again, however very unlikely if the terminals are not physically touching anything other than the battery itself and you have enough Slack in your cables. Good video thank you for making it. However it's very frustrating to try to watch what you're doing when there's a Camaro sitting in the background.
Agree with that. It's like the ring connector is being bent backwards & forwards continuously by the vibration until it snaps. I would expect the same thing to happen again if it hasn't been modified as you suggested.
just bought a husqvarna 701 sm and after 110km it shutted down 3 times in the last 10 kilometers while just cruisin , now i sended back to the shop and they said after hooking the bike up for electrical issues that they didnt see anything wrong with it ,so what could be wrong than ?

Brother man, i have a Yamaha Vegas, fuse is good, battery is, light is fine, my problem is, there is no spark on my spark flag. There is electricity flowing from Battery to the spark plug holder, what could cause that problem?

my 150cc motorcycle cuts off electrical power to the entire bike when i try to turn on the headlights. the lights dont turn on and when i set the switch to the off position the power returns
I have a 2004 softail that will no start. No lights either no clicking sound when I press the start button. Replaces the starter relay nothing. Please help
Rad! is that a Twin 500 Triumph? What size is that AntiGravity battery? I've had similar issues with my 69' Daytona, heapppps of vibration causing solid steel and ally brackets to break in half!
The Power Probe is a wonderful tool. I use mine almost every day. Unfortunately, I bought mine (this is my 2nd one in about 10 or so years) from the "rape train" aka Snap-on truck. $60?! Their mark-up is ridiculous, lol!
Those came with the bike when I got it. I wish I knew where they were from because they're good quality and metal instead of the cheap plastic ones you see online everywhere.
Huh, thanks. I just ordered the M-unit and was afraid of the quality. I also plan to use Lithium battery but heard that they are quite sensitive to charging voltage and current. But nobody suggests a good reg&rec. for Lithium. What kind of reg&rec did you choose? Or maybe I just missed this detail in your videos?
I'm frustrated. Bought a battery. Put it in, very low power. Battery was bad after I had got it tested. Got a NEW battery. They tested it there. Good. Put it in, ZERO power. Wtf!!!!!!
