I have a Powered speaker system stuck in protect mode. There are no schematics and the cause of the fault is not obvious. Can I fix it?

Its Saturday morning here in Australia and believe me, theres nothing better than getting up, grabbing some corn flakes and sitting in front of the telly in your pyjamas, watching your favourite show. Yes i did have to kick the kids out!! Thanks Richard, cant wait for part 2 tomorrow morning!

Sometimes, watching your audio repair videos, I'd like to be there with you to save you some time Rick. Since the beginning I knew these red and blue wires are the Amp outputs.😂 HK is a serious audio components producer but the soldering of the first Amp chip made think that they have to do more about their quality control. I suggest you check Diag1 also and see if a temp sensing component exists and is bogged. Thanks again for your videos...

Hello below there About your test leads.. I am really curious to know, why you use test leads that have such a long unprotected tip. To me it looks like an accident waiting to happen. It seems very easy they could short circuit if one tip slips, or if you accidentally touch a heatsink or something similar. On the screen it looks like you have something like a 30 mm unprotected tip.. For general probing I don't understand it. I know it is good if you have to get down in a dupont connector or similar pcb connectors, but probing on high voltage I don't get it...

I just like them, they are resilient and very sharp, great for probing in tight places such as pins on SOIC IC as they actually stick into the solder. I have commented about them not being suitable for high voltage before. I wasn't using them on the mains side of the PCB in tis video, but I have been known too - often saying I shouldn't do this at the same time as doing it

Hi Richard 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗 You forgott to pull up with max 5V the diag pin 1(TFB) or 2(all other protections states) . You cant meassure anything because they are open drain outputs . In the datasheet they say pull up with 10k and max 5V. At the pcb its look like the trace going nowhere😱😱

G,day Richard from Sydney Australia. So my learning outcomes, Diagnostic testing of PCBs * Introduction AC via filiment light globe (instant illumination indicated no short circuit). * General visual inspection for integrity of traces, soldering and burn marks to electronics. * Use multi meter needle probes to establish 'expected' DC at power rails on board. * Repair soldering (question size of iron tip flat v point). Thank you looking forward to part 2. * I would like to know is the benefit in using an AC voltage control in introducing low v after repair, then slowly increase (240v)? 🌏🇦🇺
