Follow this method 1. Run gpedit.msc 2. Navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Defender 3. Double click on "Turn off Windows Defender" 4. Select "Enabled" > Apply > OK 5. Select "Disabled" if you want to enable Windows Defender.
Thanks Britec09. Some program blocked Defender probably with a virus. With no programs, I could not edit the subject.I wrote to Microsoft itself where they do not have a clue about it full lol they do not know anything.I was looking for a solution for two days and I did nothing and I'm not the beginner in these matters. I wanted to reinstall Windows but I found your video.Every honor belongs to you. Thank you for this useful video you saved me from reinstalling Windows and reloading programs. Thank you, man.
FINALLY something that worked. THANK YOU!!! I've been trying to install a company program and Defender kept seeing one of the commands as a Virus. Spent HOURS trying to find a roundabout - nothing. This was simple and helpful. Appreciate it!
Hi, When I open up Window Defender on regedit there is another file called "UIFirstRun" and then it says " 0 x 00000000 (0) " shall i delete that thing?
Thank you below step work for me Follow this method 1. Run gpedit.msc 2. Navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Defender 3. Double click on "Turn off Windows Defender" 4. Select "Enabled" > Apply > OK 5. Select "Disabled" if you want to enable Windows Defender.
My defender was disabled. If I manually turned it on it would immediately shut off. Tried the regedit for Windows 10 Home edition and it works. Thanks!
You may have had a different version of windows, like an upgraded from windows 7 or 8 or something. My PC came with windows 10 installed already and it worked like a charm.
+InsanitySep - watches the video properly, write down every step in paper, follow the uTube video guide, step by step, until you have successfully changed the (value) to (1) and done.
James Liu First of all, this is almost 4 months ago ^^ Second, it still wouldn't work with this solution, because it is the from Windows 7 upgradeable version. To finally fix this I had to download the "Turn off Windows Defender" file, which actually worked :)
@@KyleMart Follow this method 1. Run gpedit.msc if u dont have press win+r and type ''gpedit.msc'' 2. Select "Disabled" if you want to enable Windows Defender.
@@unitedcheater1469 Wtf is wrong with you, THEY JUST agreed that they don't have it. They need to do regedit in the run folder and do the rest of the steps. You're not funny.
Did not work for me, I have tried, disabling windows defender in services, startup, registry editor, and even the program itself but the settings is not highlighted and cannot access it, microsoft with the updates has made it bullet proof and 100% impossible to remove it, even in safemode or as an administrator, windows also changed the reg edit location as in other videos put out in youtube, I did find the UX Configuration DWORD value and data but even in that command I cannot change the name or add a different name in that reg edit line, I checked other values and name and was able to add on those but anything that has to do with windows defender settings or changes cannot be done, in services, I can disable it but it changes from disables to manual automatically upon restart, it does not show as started but the annoying pop up window shows an annoying message at startup which I can't remove also. I guess videos of 2015 and under are no use if people updated their systems like me. Any help will be appreciated or suggestions. Happy Holidays everyone.
+jess robert i have updated windows and this process perfectly working for me. If you just want to Disable Windows Defender then you can just simply install other antivirus it will automatically disable Windows Defender.
My windows defender is disabled (my mistake) what I cant get rid of is the pop-up box when I start my computer, it says (windows defender is not on, would you like to turn it on?) and it annoys me, startup does not work, uninstalling it with different software does not work. That's the problem. registry edit still does not let me remove anything that has to do with Defender, I did remove other stuff in registry but windows defender values in registry are greyed out as not to edit remove or add.
Don't worry mate, just follow these steps to turn off Windows Defender: 1. Right click on This PC then click on Manage 2. Then Click on Services and Applications, after that double click on Services from the right panel 3. Now find Security Center and Double Click on it to open 4. Now select Disabled to Turn Off Windows Defender and Stop the service 5. Now Click on Apply and Ok to apply the settings.
Try this method... 1. Go to Windows Defender 2. Click on Settings from above it will take you to Windows Defender Settings 3. From there, Turn Off Real-Time Protection and Cloud-Based Protection I hope it will help you.
Awesome, clear easy to understand step by step instructions. Windows 10 had made Kaspersky almost impossible to find, had to download new compatible version. All good now. Many thanks
Thank you so much, I kept having an issue when windows defender kept turning off my paid full version of Kaspersky Internet Security in windows 10 home! I can personally vouch for Kaspersky Total Security, I've been using Kaspersky for years and have never had a problem thanks to it being rock solid. I do however occassionally temporarily use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware because it will on occassion find something that most anti-viruses will miss, then I'll disable or remove Malwarebytes when finished to avoid compatibility issues with Kaspersky also running.
That was great! I love the fact that you gave alternative ways to do this. It's--sort of--like my Math class. Just pick the one that works best for you!
Very helpful. I just realised that after uninstalling avast, I was left unprotected because it switched defender off when installed and didn't turn it on (or allow me to turn it on) after the uninstall! And that's the paid version....
thats true, you will be prone to many viruses., but instead of using Windows defender i would rather use a commercialized antivirus. I came here because Windows defender always detect my AutoKMS as a malware and blocked it.. my clients also have this problem and thank you for this video.
Thanks! That was very helpful! I am not a techie but was able to do this easily. BTW, Windows defender is a piece of junk. It said I had no issues, but ESET is cleaning up 13 issues (so far) that Defender never caught.
+Britec09 help me pls i have some problem i cant turn on real time protection and all look like cant do anything with window defender i delete DisableAntiSpyware but it still not working i click to window and go to window defender and again i cant do anything on window defender Turn on/off i cant it help me am try so much way pls help pls guy am so tired
This tutorial is in order to lock the position on/off. If defender is ON when you apply the regedit to '1' it will lock the positon ON. If you turn defender OFF first then apply the regedit it be OFF and locked. Until you change the regedit to 0.
nice video,,,, i tried to follow these procedure but still it give me error,,,,,, '' the service could not started'',,, what should be the extra problem here? you help please!!
