Dude, it is one of the coolest software I see until today, congratulations to make this gorgeous. The design was wonderful! I found the Keyviz in Reddit after searching for some software that capture and display the keys and mouse click that I pressed. Thank you to make this FOSS. ❤
*The Portable version works GREAT!!* Microsoft does not complain about the portable version not being signed. It would be nice if one could set custom colors instead of just picking from what's available though. Maybe add this feature in a future update. *Great Job on developing this!!*
Thanks man. As someone who was going to be doing some screen recording in Photoshop....I needed something that could capture the Shift, Ctrl, and Alt keys. Carnac is cool...........but it didnt capture that. Also, there's cool color options and designs that scratches that art itch so double points for that!
this is excellent app , great work !! i have one suggestion to make ( or is it intentional or is it just unnoticed!! ) The left ctrl, shift alt keys are swapped to right ctrl alt shift keys ? The image icons seems to me should be swapped.
If you want this to work in borderless fullscreen games, you have to run the software in administrator mode. You can make this setting permanent by going into the exe's properties and tick "run as admin".
My screen is 4K. My recordings are 1080p, using a portion of the center of the screen. The keypresses display on the bottom of the screen and do not even appear on the 1080p portion being recorded. No use to my at all. Thanks anyway...
Nice app by the way. First of all - not Apperanc but Appearance ))). The next one moment is that there is no clear displaying combinations. For example when i pressing "CTRL+F" there is no "+" between displaying (as in other solutions) so not visually clear, it was pressed as combination or as one by one. But overall is very impressive, BRAVO ))))
Looks cool, but has a big flaw, if you have 2+ displays it is show it on the main screen, would be good to have option to select monitor. Otherwise amazing software.
Take a bow :) the best utility so far for displaying keystroke. I don't want to sound greedy but having the ability to display OSD anywhere on screen would be great. Also if similar utility for mouse clicks would have been great :P I'd definitely pay for it
Multi-monitor support is listed for future plans and mouse visualisation is already in the works, you check the same here - github.com/mulaRahul/keyviz/releases/tag/v2.0.0a
This is a really good application, but please add a shortcut to the button options that will be displayed. The shortcuts I mean are like shift+, CTRL+, windows+, fn+, alt+ . I saw that the app already has a feature to display hotkeys only, but it is limited to the CTRL+ and ALT+ keys. Hopefully in the next version you will make it. by the way this is a very good application, thank you for making it. and I apologize if you are confused reading this comment because my English is not very good, I made this using Google Translate :)
@@rahulmulaI've tried both, but I really like the animation and appearance in version 1.0.6, and a little more, maybe you can add mouse clicks that can appear on the screen, I mean there will be right click and left click words that appear on the screen. that would be really cool. I really appreciate your hard work. and until now I still use your application because the application has made my work easier👍👍
thing is... i have two monitors, and i want to display the keys i press on the second monitor but i cant find the option to do so, so how do i display it on my other monitor?
hello thank you for this tutorial, I have just one question: what is the name of the software that you use to record this video, as it focuses on some part of the screen or zoom in when you want to show something important.
Hey, how do I use this on obs? I am recording an app but cant get it into it without recording the whole screen... Would you help? amazing tool by the way
It depends on the js tech-stack/framework you're using, as I'm not well versed with the same. Theoritically it should be possible, as you need to listen to keyboard inputs, and then render out them on the screen (transparent window on top of others app).
Of-course not. I do think the same can be done with js frameworks as well. It's just that I like flutter/dart more than js frameworks to perform the same (the above mentioned steps).
hey, this looks really cool but being an exe and all seems like a bit of a security risk in my employer's eyes. any chance you could make an equivalent thing that ties directly into OBS rather than displaying onscreen? there'd be a market for it
@@rahulmula hello! Is the OBS integration live already? I'm currently struggling to figure out how to select it as a source for OBS to record. (I am not recording my entire screen, but a program specifically)
Hmm, @Alex Huygen I'm not sure about that. If you want to show a _cheatsheet_ of the important shortcuts of a software, then you can show an image (in the video) of the same. Or share a pdf. Or even better, display them one by one.
I downloaded this and scanned it at multiple points during installation. I used a credible paid subscription based antivirus. It got the all-clear each time. This was advertised as also showing mouse clicks. It does not. There are no options for enabling them. (This doesn't mean that I'm telling you whether it's safe. I'm not taking a stance on that. I'm telling you what my experience with it was. Version 1.0.6, released 2022)
For mouse actions you can check the alpha version - github.com/mulaRahul/keyviz/releases/tag/v2.0.0a. As for viruses, very shortly keyviz will be released on Microsoft Store.
It is an excellent application, but I need to configure the keyboard in another language, or that the application identifies the keyboard language configured in windows and from this it shows the corresponding keys.
No offense to the youtuber and developer that made this, but I'd be silly if i didn't ask online... Has anyone downloaded this actually and scanned it and tested it and checked for malware or any kind of storage of the key presses?
Yep, you're right! The biggest issue in the current release is the security warning message. Because the software isn't signed with a trusted (paid-microsoft) certificate, and it reads keyboard-inputs - obviously it's regarded as a malware by the system. You can read further on the same in this discussion 🗨 github.com/mulaRahul/keyviz/discussions/11 (btw it's an open-source software i.e. you can view the code behind the software yourself). I understand your concern, that's why I've planned to solve the same in the next release (Also yes, I'm the developer as well). I'll purchase a Microsoft Licenese, have them inspect the software (with their certificate as proof) and then release it on the internet, preferably on the Microsoft store as well. Hope there will be nothing to suspect by then.
Yep! Cross-platform support will be added in the upcoming release. You can accelerate it's development by voting here 👉 github.com/mulaRahul/keyviz/discussions/36
bitdefender (my antivirus) gave it the green light. The fact that it tracks your keyboard likely makes it tick a few "malicious" boxes, but its a lightweight program with no outbound signals as far as im aware. Although, with literally any key display program, be sure to turn it off whenever you type any passwords or sensitive information
