It's 2024, there must be an easier way for access to generate the QR code and also print into labels. I've been working with access database for years for parts inventory and I would love to print labels out easier. I use QR codes because some of our part numbers are so long they will not fit on a barcode. I can get labels to print fine. But the QR generator is the issue.

The QR code is going to return something... whatever it's programmed to... a web address, someone's name, an ID, etc. What you do with that information is up to you.

Well, as of yesterday (4-1-2024) from my end it looks like Google API has disabled their QR code system as it has not been functioning for the past two days. I have now built into my code multiple URLs to go generate the QR code until successful. If the first URL doesn't generate the QR code then it repeatedly goes to the next URL until there is a successful QR code is generated. When your factory is depending on functionality having this redundancy built in is priceless. And no, we only do a dozen or so QR requests per day so it isn't like we are DoS requesting codes.
Looks like it's still working for me MOST of the time. I use it for the QR codes in my videos. I've noticed a couple of times over the past week they didn't load. There are other PAID services out there you can use that may be more reliable if it's business critical.

Funny how RU-vid picked the QR Codes and Scanning bar codes (Not just yours but somebody else as well) for Access. Never really thought about bar code scanning but my next project is inventory of um Fishing gear so I theoretically don't purchase 500 more lures of the same one I already have because I swore I was low. Projects still going to happen (somehow). I had stopped using the old web tool some time ago as certain sites don't play nice with IE (specifically Google related pages. It felt too much like Dos isn't done until Lotus won't run). I had never tried the new one and had hoped it would play nice with sites like Google and guess what it doesn't. Is there a work around so can access certain pages or am I and every Access user doomed until Microsoft decides to update the ugly redheaded stepchild. I'm using Office 2016.
@@599CD the question was - is there a work around regarding the Web tool not displaying certain pages correctly in Access since it still seems to use IE instead of Edge or other. I know Microsoft said an update was to be released in 2021 but that can was punted to a future date?

Wouldn't this pose as a company security threat? All someone would need to do is find a first and last name of someone that works with/for her and create a barcode using the same site? I guess this is how a QR code is a bad idea?
