Yes, that is what I did. I tried the video's method but the washing machine hose I got did not fit onto the PEX coupling that I had. Either my coupling was too big or my hose inner diameter too small. The problem with the Xhose brass fitting is that it is a two-piece unit that requires the black plastic compression ring to seal it. But that black plastic ring also blocks you from clamping the nozzle, because of its length. So this is what I did: 1. Cut the Xhose to remove the leaky part (mine was close to the end where it attaches to the faucet). 2. expose the inner tube; clamp it in place so it does not retract inside the cloth. 3. cut the black plastic compression ring with a hacksaw so that it could still be screwed onto the fitting, but leave room for a steel screw-clamp. This compression ring is very important to prevent leakage where the two brass fittings attach to each other. I cut it so that all the threads were just covered, and I could see all of the brass nozzle where the inner tube will attach. 4. screw the black plastic compression ring onto the fitting, finger tight. 5. thread the steel screw-clamp over the cloth and inner tube but do not tighten it yet ( I used a 5/8 inch clamp) 5. attach the inner tube all the way onto the end of the brass fitting nozzle. 6. Pull up the black cloth "sock" as far as it will go, over the inner tube to cover it. 7. Position the steel screw clamp onto the brass nozzle area where you have attached the inner tube. Screw the steel clamp onto the end of the fitting, over the area where the inner tube is attached, so that it is tight and will not move. 8. Make sure washer is in the fitting before attaching it to a faucet. 9 . Attach to faucet. 10. Tighten the black plastic compression ring (which was cut earlier) finger tight 11. Test the connection for leaks, preferably outside. I did this today on the fly. Seems to work (so far - no guarantees!). Had I known, it would have cost me only 1.29 for the steel clamp, even cheaper than the video, because I would not have to buy the brass fitting or the hose! But I do like the video's method as well, just need to get the right sizes of PEX coupling and hose. Another possibility I thought of while in Canadian Tire is to use a crimping device to crimp a seal around the inner tube and cloth. That way, you may not have to cut the plastic ring to accommodate the stainless steel screw-clamp. However, I did not have those tools, and it would have to be tight enough and allow the black plastic to travel over it. Anyway hope this helps! Sorry I did not have time to do a video to demo my method.

I forgot a step in my instructions: 1B. Expose the brass fitting by unscrewing the black plastic compression ring, then removing the steel band which holds the cloth and inner tube onto the nozzle. I used a hacksaw and clamp.

Absolutely. My instruction said do not keep in the sun. So I keep it in a cover container. So far I've had it for a year no problems. It's my go-to hose. I have two other regular hoses that I hardly ever touch.

Same. I tightened it as best I could. Used a 1/2 connector which seemed large and it still popped off. I had the tubing and the covering all the way over the fitting
