Linwood Darkis explains and demonstrates how to do 3 strand twists flat to the scalp, other wise known as 3 strand flat twists. This is a technique of natural hair styling, considered a method of braiding. The model in this video is Alexzandria Darkis. At the time that this video is filmed, she is 8 years old. @Tiny Tee 3 Strand Not as hard as u think. I picked up in 60s u can too! Keep throwing 1 of 3 strands over the 2strands and keep repeating. Now master flat twist seems like cornrow because u pick up piece hair add to twist keep flat. New subbies throw flag for no real reason. ✌

GlamFam Hair & Beauty thank you and @renee Anderson, I see that it’s like the two strand twist because it’s rotating, however I’m so used to cornrowing with 3 strands instead of rotating. Hopefully my fingers will get used to rotating. Plus, I barely two strand twist my own hair lol

GlamFam Hair & Beauty 1. I am a cosmetologist so I really appreciate all the hard work y’all put into this channel! Question: I have 3A curly hair but my daughter has type 2 at best...do you think (with product of course) that this would work with her hair?

That will depend on her porosity and her density. I am a huge fan of Giovanni Ultra Moist 2chic line, but styling product can vary based on the desired feel and hold. I personally love the mixture of foaming wrap and setting lotion. I mix 2/3 setting lotion to 1/3 foaming wrap (Nairobi is my favorite on both of those.) in a foaming wrap bottle. That way it still goes on like a foam, but holds nicely, without crunchiness. Thanks so much for the compliment on the videos! We truly appreciate you watching!

Ok, so we always have mixed results with twist outs. Question - how important are the products you use? Or better yet, is the product more important or the technique? Fyi - we're working with the 4b/c crew over here. 🙂

My favorite mixture is 1/3 foaming wrap to 2/3 setting lotion. It gives slip and flexible hold. My favorite brand is Nairobi. But, it helps to make sure that hair is completely dry and set before you take it down, with 4c, often it helps to use a heavier oil than I used in this video, as it seals better. Technique can make a massive difference as well. I always tell people, it’s about 80% technique, 20% product.

I had no idea three strand twists could be done to the scalp. You are good! I don’t think I would be able to do this but I love 3 strand twists, they give the best definition. Zan is so pretty and well mannered. I just love her 💓 Oh and you got me hooked on that Giovanni lol. Makes my hair so soft. oh my gosh I love two strand twist and three strand twist it saved my life because I used to braid like crazy now my hands hurt because ever since my hair was mid-length it's hard to braid my hair and my head started hurting and stuff so this day of my life oh my goodness the curl pattern on her hair and the color that it popped very nicely Okay I see if she is speaking this into existence a new channel in the works😄👍♥️

Really gorgeous!!!! A question: do you think it's okay for me to use the Giovanni 2Chic leave-in on my toddler? She has different hair textures. Thin soft baby hair at the roots and dry, courser towards the ends. I moisturize every day with water and a moisturizer for kids by African pride. It's beautiful when I am done but after an hour or two it looks like the child was trekking through the Sahara. Any advice?
