My dad used to do this to repair canvas or leather. He was fast so never learned how to do the stitch. I can now repair the seam that split in my rear car seat. Thx

Thank you for the great tutorial. I got about a 41/2 long hole in the side of my lazy boy chair. I think this will do the trick. Thanks again.

Thanks for the tutorial. Can this stitch be used to sew a rip in the fabric? I accidentally cut the fabric on my chair with a razor. So both sides don’t have a seam allowance like yours in the video.

I’m confused. What do you mean by “swap the needle on the string’s other end”? Does that mean you take the thread out of one thread end and retread it on the other thread end? It is off camera at that point so I can’t be sure. Please advise.

I don't understand how the thread stays in the needle if you don't tie a knot. Did I miss the part where you explain this?

You should not need to tie a knot if you leave enough excess

My dogs tear up dog beds like nothing. $30 sewing kit on Amazon & some patience & I will be saving a lot of money! Thanks again!

Does it have to be a curved needle I use. Or can I use a straight needle as well?
@JoshDiazDOP

You'll have a much harder time using a straight needle.
