I was a floor layer many years ago and this was exactly how I was taught to scribe in - most times with a scribe-bar for full rolls. Despite all the disparaging comments, this works every time and is by far the quickest method. For those suggesting cutting just one side, that won't work if the skirting isn't square to the flooring line. Good work...!
If flooring is not square, it's because u installed it wrong. This is garbage material to install. Any other product won't bend on the walls and rough up drywall. This is a hack job and you would be dropped back off in front of home Depot with the rest of your buddies
Я один нихрена не понял как он это сделал? Посмотрел еще раз 10, кажется понял, он делает отметки, от которых в последующем отталкивается, для того чтобы панель лежала на полу а не на стене и так с обоих сторон, чтобы было ровно, грубо эти отметки делаются как нулевая точки отсчета и без разницы где именно ставить эти отметки, главное чтобы по краям был запас который можно срезать, где то чуть больше, где то чуть меньше, а плинтуса походу в лому было снимать))
@@TheGazza636well maybe u do m8 but there's ways to jot such as pricing off ur studs or punching the nails through and then all u need is some caulk or wood filler skirtings should always go onto of flooring in my opinion many reasons why but the main one is its the way I learned to do it
@@davekearney1944 Engineered flooring might be OK in the direction shown in the video, but I agree with you.that the grain should be running down the hall to minimize cross-grain expansion and contraction in solid wood.

Most people probably just measure the hallway and then cut all 10 boards to length at once before slotting them in. If the hallway narrows this would make sense but it's extremely time consuming for a lot of boards.
Мой личный опыт , в целях экономии ремонт я делала сама что могла , и декатайл конечно тоже клеила сама 70 кв.м , я бы конечно обрезала с одной стороны тем более что на подложке шов перекрывается таким куском декотайла , у меня такие обрезки как раз пошли под окно так как клеила в шахматном порядке , хотя я конечно не мастер этого дела но клеила подгоняла все тютелька в тютельку как для себя любимой 😄💖💖💖 но каждому виднее как ему своим материалом распоряжаться 💖
Its good but you need an expansion gap all round usually a minimum of 4mm or the manufacturer's warranty is void. Also its LVP flooring the key letter being P so its not a tile regardless of what it says on the box

If the walls are square, a tape works just as good, usually putting down 1/4 round on most jobs anyway. Side to side in hallways isn't my favorite, but if you have to, stagger the joints

А что обязательно надо один раз отмерять и два раза отрезать ? Проще ведь один край отрезать а с кусочка следующую начать . экономно и стык в разбег как полагается . или он там везде без разбежки накладывает 😂😂😂
а зачем разбежка,если куска хватает на весь проход с минимальными отходами? Непонятно,зачем он два реза делает,это да. Но делать разбег с маленького кусочка-это точно не лучшее решение.
@@StObeR-rq4fq стены могут быть не параллельны, два реза дадут точный зазор с двух сторон. Правда и ошибка набегает, и точность метки от толщины материала зависит
@@squidlings It’s under cutting because it feathers out on the backside after snapping, it can hold it off the skirting half a millimetre or so which is too much of a gap.
That is meant to have staggered boards, not whole boards, one after the other, and the base boards should have been removed. Also, it's a glue down product, and you could not do what you did there if the floor was glued as it should be.
Never even under any circumstances lay flooring that direction down a hallway and for the bonus points never ever lay it with the base boards still on wowser...
