Once you learn the Rock to Fakie on a mini ramp, you're going to need something to do on the other side. Enter the Fakie Tail Stall / Tail Stop :)
Fakie Tail Stalls are probably the first fakie lip trick you'll learn, and this video will break down every component and give you practice steps to get you nailing this trick in no time.

Omg I’ve struggled with this trick for some reason for so long and I watched this and a couple other tutorials and finally got it down!! I always did a little tap while staying leaned into the ramp and can’t believe I can now stall it no problem. It feels so easy and simple I can’t believe it took me so long lol.Just uploaded a video of me getting it (with some fundamental BMX tricks. Progressing both sports) Love the style tricks you added when you get it down. Thanks for this!!

Thank you for this video. I have fallen hard so many times trying this trick. You are the only person who has given real advice on how to do this trick. I can't wait to dominate this trick. Cheers to any fellow skate dads!

Justin, your tutorials are by far the best on You Tube. All the other are like, "place your tail on the coping and push down with your front leg and ride away. And just commit"... not really helpful. You take it through all the practice steps before progressing to the actual trick. Very helpful. Thanks.

Thank you for this video. At first I learned tail stall the wrong way - by leaning too far backwards so I slammed my elbow 3-4 times hard. Got discourged after that. But Today I re-learned it the right way because of you. I now lean into the ramp instead which gives me more control and stability.

Really nice video. just started skating 2 days ago and already have the rock to fakie down. But when I was riding back instead of the tail stall I would try to rock to fakie again. trying this tomorrow! thanks!

Great trick tips! I just subscribed and am gonna try fakie tail stalls, rock to fakies and rock and rolls today! I now have a 4' mini in my backyard and am just getting used to transition. I'm pretty comfortable with pumping, dropping in and bs kickturns...but that's about it right now. I'll check out your other videos too! Thanks!

hey. i love your videos. your break downs and build ups are so smart and helpful. i'm so close to getting this (i think) but my confusion is about where i should be looking? do i look at my tail? the deck? get my eyes back into the ramp? i often find that when i get my eyes right, i get the trick.

I'm really struggling with this. Having just watched this it's interesting you suggest practicing the motion on a flat bank first (never thought of that). Hopefully that will help.

+Justin Lauria +Justin Lauria nah I was just wanting to see sessions of you skateboarding and I also ask for tips on my Ollie, this is the highest I can, I have watched many of videos on how to do one and higher Ollies, I keep making the mistake of the back foot coming off of the skateboard, just posted a video on my channel, if you could give me tips, that would be awesome! Thanks for the great videos btw man

Hey justin i really find your video's helpful, but can you do a video on how to drop in. In my local park i can easily fakie to the coping of the quarterpipe and back down and can drop onto a steep and 9 ft bank but for some reason i freak out when dropping in off the quarter pipe. Can you give me some pointers? much love from wales in the uk
@NeverStopImprovingSB
@NeverStopImprovingSB 9 лет назад
Ibrinator23 Thank you dude! I have a video on that exact topic for you! Skateboard Mini Ramp Basics - How to Drop In, Pump, Kickturn, and Exit Safely ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AnzaXRJm9fs.html You're definitely ready for the next step of dropping in on a quarter pipe. A lot of people have trouble with it though because it's so scary. My advice is so pick a day next week that you're going to try it (like just pick next Saturday or whenever the next time you'll be at the skatepark), and just plan it out/mentally prepare yourself beforehand (tell someone you're going to do it, buy a helmet if you don't already have one, think about the motion of doing it a lot). When the day comes, just focus on at making that happen before the end of the day (mainly you just have to commit to trying it one time, because once you feel how slow and easy it is, you'll be able to do it every time after that no problem). Obviously, lean forward a lot more than you think you should. Falling forwards is way less painful on a drop in, and DON"T TAKE YOUR FEET OFF THE BOARD. Good luck man, you're going to get it for sure. Update me on how it goes.

@SunriseSessions
@SunriseSessions 2 года назад
Hi Justin, I was wondering how you time the tailstall do you look to know which moment you need to put the tail down?
@NeverStopImprovingSB
@NeverStopImprovingSB 2 года назад
Yes you have to anticipate that the wheels are getting close to the coping to start bending your front knee. You have some wiggle room so it doesn't have to be timed perfectly.

Is it possible to practice that first step on a miniramp, instead of a bank? Or will I fall? No access to skateparks right now :-(

So I learnt to rock to fakie and now I want to tail stall but I’m wondering how much speed i need should my board be about the same speed if I was going to rock to fakie but of course in reverse so my back wheels would come out
@NeverStopImprovingSB
@NeverStopImprovingSB 6 лет назад
Actually Zack, you can do the trick with an extremely wide range of approach speeds. The speed you've mentioned is the definitely the sweet spot, but as long as you bend your front knee as your back wheels hit the coping, you'll be able to absorb any extra speed you might have.

What do you call a tailstall where you turn 90 degrees on your back trucks then go back in? This isn't a set up for a bad joke, it's a real question. I can do them but have no idea what they're called.

I hate this stupid trick...I've been chasing it for years, I mean little kids can do this lol. I can do all of the rock variations, and much harder lip tricks, but not this for some reason. It's annoying.
