I tried to put this into practice in my swimming lesson. I lifted my head which forced me to arch my back with my feet still at or near the surface of the water.. Then I couldn't bring my knees to my chest however hard I tried. Pushing my hands down didn't have any effect. I was then moving head-first lower into the pool. I then panicked madly thrashing about to try to get upright. Having researched this, I read that it is a common mistake to raise the head first. Bend the knees and bring down hands almost simultaneously. The head will then automatically rise.
I am a beginner and my only fear is not able to stand in between. The trick is to keep the head submerged in the water only. Just bend the knees and push back the hands. and that’s all. Head will automatically rise.
My hand stay straight, head under water, and I start by bending knees trying to touch the surface of pool! Water won't let my feet touch the surface! I start panicking like a lunatic. Can you help me? What am I doing wrong?
Love the way you explained ❤ It was my first day for swimming lessons, and i was struggling with back/front float recovery, it's the best video for ppl like me, who are afraid of water but still learning to swim.. Great video ❤
It's been a month of me taking swimming lessons and I still can't overcome my fear of drowning. I am still using kick board to float. I have this extreme fear of losing body balance if I bend my arms under water. This is why I still haven't learned how to stand in water. I can stand alright when I have a kick board with me, my arms keep straight, I bend my knees and lift my head and I stand up. I can't get rid of the kick board because I have fear of losing balance if I bend my arms. Any tips for me?
I had the same fear.. just ask your trainer to hold your hands or stay near you while you practice standing by your own. I practiced this way and overcame my fear
Same problem of recovering and breathing with me. First 3 days i did well. But suddenly after break of a week i started panicking and was not able to recover. I forgot everything. If i take deep breath, i feel congestion in chest and thinks to come out immediate. 😢
