You are so fun to watch. thank you for sharing how you reborn. You mentioned bb carries the cutting tool for the rooting needles- I found mine at home depot- they have the exact same tool for half the price and it works great. One tip on cutting needes is to cut into a box and semi close the lid because once you cut they will fly in different directions. :)
Thank you for the awesome video! I have mixed feelings about the texture if matte finish. My one baby is very smooth and soft feeling, but the "skin" doesn't look textured. My other baby has heavy matting and her skin is rough and bumpy, but it look so realistic and dewy.
To be safe I would bake it 2 times at least. I let it bake about 12 minutes each time. Make sure when he is cooled off that the matte won't rub off or feel sticky.
One question I have for you is how do you paint the nails without streaks...I just painted my second doll and I am on the nails now and once the paint dries there are streaks. ugh I used nail color thinned and I also have trouble with that color getting around edge of nails making beds look dirty...any advise would be greatly appreciated. thank you
I'm really not sure. That has never happened to me. I wish that I could help on that one. If you are using thinned paint is should work. Maybe dab your brush a few times before painting?
***** I removed all the paint off the limbs and started over cause it looked so bad around the nails. I scraped with a tooth pick to get the paint off the nail beds and it was certainly a chore. I am struggling with getting color on the fingers without getting the nail beds looking dirty...the colors are warm blush and then nail color when doing the thin layers of motling with sponges. I would love to see your process on one limb. Maybe that would help me see what I am doing wrong. If I stay away from finger tips then they look like they are too light...
Love your video's, now with the matte varnish do you let it dry before baking ? also do you have to preposition the piece's half way thru the baking ? how do you take it off if it went chalky and white ? i get the very thin coat thx
can you please do a video on doing eyebrows on bald babies? the best way to do the shadow of an eyebrow or what type of eyebrow to do on a bald baby that would be very helpful thank you
Can you do this process on a silicone baby? I will be creating a silicone doll and then paint it with a silicone paint and I know it will be shiny. This process of matting is somewhat unclear because I see so many different ways. You mentioned that this is matting on a vinyl baby doll. So is silicone the same process and also baking it the same? Thanks.
I am working on my first baby, after I did the matte finish I baked 3 x's seemed fine til I started putting baby together then the legs would have lines where it was touched. They are chalky and it rubs off. What did I do wrong? Can I correct it?
+Tracie Dove I am guessing that you used too much. Try to wipe the baby down from head to toe to get it off. if that works re apply with the matte slightly thinned. Let me know
